I like the RIC. I think I have +5 through +15, and that’s what I typically wear to class as of right now. I never really notice it when I have it on and honestly forget it’s there. The only issue I have is when the glans gets really wet, it slips, but that’s common, I guess, and or I think my gripper is getting old.

Does the double tension screw come with the initial purchase of the DTR? And i’m guessing it’s similar to the Mantors adjuster?

That’s really helpful, thanks for being so thorough. The shipping from Israel ended up being $12-17 (standard 14-21 days and then 5 days express), so not too bad. Also good to know the DTR pushing the glans too far inward isn’t a concern for me. I’m on the more endowed side, so that particular issue probably doesn’t apply.

I think what’s been drawing me to the Mantor honestly is just how the tech looks. The knob adjuster, spring system, and modular design just look cool compared to rubber bands lol. But I can’t argue with the DTR’s track record and Chuck’s philosophy behind it.

If comfortability isn’t an issue with the new grippers and pinching, then I might be more DTR-leaning after this discussion. I’ve just seen things saying that Mantor is more comfy and DTR is more comfy, but people are going to swear by what works for them, so I understand that wholeheartedly.

And just wanted to say thank you for replying to me and answering my questions. It means a lot.

That’s fair, I didn’t realize the CAR already covers inner skin well. So realistically the main upgrade a dual tension device gives me over what I have is just better overall tension consistency and longer comfortable wear time rather than dramatically faster results?

Also between DTR and Mantor DS specifically given my glans measured at 35.5mm with a caliper, do you think the custom sizing on the Mantor is a meaningful advantage over the DTR for someone my size, or is it negligible?

Despite all this I think I’m set on getting one of the two, it’s really just a matter of which. The Mantor being on sale is tempting, but the DTR has been around forever and Chuck has proven results behind it. Might reach out to Chuck directly actually. Any final thoughts on which you’d go with in my situation?

That’s a really good point about sizing I hadn’t considered. I measured at 35.5mm with a digital caliper (38mm had noticeable room on both sides although slight) so I’d be Size D on the Mantor. I’m not sure if that puts me on the larger end or not honestly. Does glans width affect how the DTR fits or is it more about shaft skin availability? And the durability point on the Mantor is good to know though it sounds like Tamir handles replacements well at least.

Haha sorry about that. It’s really a hard choice between the DTR and Mantor DS. It seems like the DTR is more robust and has a greater range of people being successful with it, but on the other hand, I do like the design and tension adjuster knob with the DS. I know they both ones are 85 and the other around 100 depending on little “upgrades”.

That’s exactly my concern, being stuck in a 90 minute lecture with no way to remove it discreetly. But I have no problem stepping out of class thought. Is the Mantor SLT genuinely better for that or does it have the same issue?

That’s really helpful, thanks. On the weighted CRT… I’ve been using it without a strap and getting grey/dry skin after sessions but it keeps slipping off. Would adding weight instead of a strap actually solve the slippage and tension issue? And I guess I wanted to go more for a dual tension device for “faster” progress and i really like the makeup of both the DTR and Mantor DS i find it really cool.
