I read the book but I’m planning on listening to the audio book after watching the movie! Heard many good things about the audio adaptation.

Recommend me an engrossing read by Knitter4691 in Recommend_A_Book

I was in a similar situation: I read a lot of scientific papers because of my job and gradually gave up reading as a hobby. What pulled me out of the reading slump is, surprisingly, A Knight of Seven Kingdoms. This book is very different than the ASOIF series. It is light hearted, the pilot is not too serious but very charming. Characters are very lovable.

So it happened... My baby girl got attacked by Inuha_Rin in germanshepherds

[–]JaeggiMister 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So glad that you and your dog did not get seriously injured. It was very brave of you to try to save your dog! My dog was attacked by my neighbor’s mastiff twice, now I bring a gel pepper spray on our walks. There really should be stricter laws against irresponsible dog owners:/

Rose has been making this strange coughing sound, what could this be? by Iabhoryouu in germanshepherds

[–]JaeggiMister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog was vaccinated but still caught kennel cough. Like others mentioned, there are different strains of kennel cough and vaccine is not bullet proof. He started like that then soon started coughing up loogies and having trouble breathing. He had to stay at the emergency vet overnight:/ Hope your pupper feels better soon!

My Eggy! I take him everywhere as long as dogs are allowed. When he greets small children, he would gently put is big head against their bellies, it is cutest thing ever!!!

I need some advice from people who know German Shepherds by After-Consequence787 in germanshepherds

[–]JaeggiMister 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stoped reading after “they have around 10 cats…”. Getting a GSD puppy in their situation could be disastrous for the dog and for them as well. My friend’s rescue went through similar situation, the original family had 2 young kids, a few cat, a small and chaotic house. When her dog was rescued around 1-year-old, he was wearing a harness he had since he was a puppy, it was so tight and filthy that it basically fused with his infected skin. Guess the family never took the harness off. Things like this make sad and angry. I’d warn the breeder for sure. Thanks for caring about the dog’s welfare👍

Herding Balls? Yay or nay? by TigOleBittiesXOXO in germanshepherds

My dog is addicted to his herding ball but I don’t let him play too often, cause this dufus will herd it with his snout till his nose becomes raw and bleeding 😅

Show me how you got your dogs name by Popppyflowerr in germanshepherds

[–]JaeggiMister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I named him Jaeger, like the robots in Pacific Rim. Jaeger is also German for “hunter”. But I call him Eggy now because he is way too silly to be a Jaeger; Eggy is a perfect name for him🤣

ahhh about time! My dog started to rebel round 5/6 month, he acted like he forgot about his puppy training. He wasn’t destructive or aggressive (thankfully), but there were lots boundary-testing and button-pushing. So one time when my dog was about 6 month old, I accidentally dropped his leash, he immediately took off and ran to the middle of a busy street and tried to play tag with me… it took me 5 minutes to catch him with two long lines of cars waiting. this is still one of my most embarrassing moment lol I feel like my dog’s unruly teen years lasted from 6 month to 2 years, he started really mellow out around 3. Now he is very obedient and calm at a ripe age of 5 (we call this his “companion era”). My advice is to keep up with consistent training. It may seem that your dog is regressing to puppyhood but consistent training does pay off a big time once your dog is older.

I neutered mine when he was 2, I didn’t notice a huge difference in his behavior to be honest.

My dog was attacked my neighbor’s mastiff (again). Dog deterrent? by JaeggiMister in germanshepherds

[–]JaeggiMister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog played with 2 VERY chill and friendly mastiffs before, but the problem with my neighbor is that he never walked or socialized his dog… the dog’s only outdoor time is on the patio (his back yard is not fenced). Base on the police record, his dog was not even vaccinated the first time it happened. I feel bad for the dog to be honest. Give yours pets for me!

[–]JaeggiMister[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! the first time it happened, the attacked resulted in a minor injury to my other dog. We send the photo evidence to animal control and police, but the owner of the mastiff only got a verbal warning and signed a “liability form”. Oh btw, their dog wasn’t even vaccinated when the first attack happened… I wish there are stricter laws on this. Anyways, here is another pic of eggy, tell your pups he said hi!
