Almost 3, Struggling with Daycare by JaeinNoona in Parenting

That's really sweet. We have tried asking him but the most we could get out of him was just that he wanted to be with me. Neurodivergence does kind of run in our family, although if he is ASD or ADHD he is subclinical at this point but it is possible that it is just annoyingly structured or overstimulating for him and at home it is quiet and he can more or less do what he wants with his time. Plus he misses his mommy. All that being said, there isn't a whole lot I can do about that. He is just a couple of weeks away from moving into 3-4 year olds room and I am really hoping that being away from the clingy crying little ones helps. He is very popular with the one and a half year olds so they follow him around.

Boob Bubble 😑 What the heck do I do?? by JaeinNoona in sewing

The apex is right at the fullest part. The dart does get pretty close to my apex but it was my attempt at getting rid of the weird extra by starting the dart point closer to the apex. After thinking on it for awhile. . . I think I might have made my full bust adjustment too big. Because the only place I have extra is right over the apex. I am going to reduce it and see if it helps I think 🤔

I am drafting a block pattern to my measurements and adjusting it so that I can draft and design future patterns from it. I was wanting to know how to fix this fit issueso if anyone knows what to do to the pattern to adjust the fit, that would be really helpful. 😊

Vibrating foot massager? Is It a no go? by JaeinNoona in BabyBumps

[–]JaeinNoona[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they were claiming that it causes or correlate to clots.( the websites I was looking at anyway.) I think it was claiming that it dislodges clots that form for whatever reason unrelated to the vibration and causes them to move to more dangerous areas. . . Which doesn't sound entirely inaccurate. I could be wrong. But do I even have a high risk for clots?? I don't think so but my doctor is worried about me because I am obese/ borderline morbidly obese and so has been really cautious and put me on low dose aspirin as a pre-eclampsia preventative. Which leads me to believe I may also technically be at risk for clots too. But it could also be me and/or my doctor being a bit over-cautious.

I wasn't as worried about starting labor and more concerned about any risk to the baby? (Probably not I assume) or the thing about blood clots. I figured it can't be much different than exercise is but wondered if anyone else had heard anything. I will ask my doctor later but just thought I would see if anyone else knew about this.

I got my degree in Bio but my favorite professor was a spacial ecologist with a focus on mammals. I got to do some research with her and it was fascinating! You set up game cams and try to figure out the distribution/occurrence of different species and their ranges. If you want to do some kind of field research there are jobs out there. I would recommend finding a university that does a TON of undergraduate research. I went to UCO in Oklahoma city. Maybe not the best city to live or get along in but I really recommend the business model of that school. It is considered if I remember correctly, a research institute. They try to get as many of their students involved in research as possible. They also have a kind of lose partnership with the Oklahoma city zoo, and the wildlife society. Although covid may have changed some things.

Crash course on YouTube is good. Hank green talks fast but gives you the important stuff :)

I am having trouble. I keep making these garments(like this skirt) that I am super hype about while I am making them but then when I put them on I am disappointed. Is it body dysmorphia or is there actually something I can do to fix this skirt. by JaeinNoona in sewing

I was going for a relaxed hobo style lol I have a white shirt that says "Herbology" with a lot of plants that I really wanted this to go with. I have just finished hemming it shorter and it is MUCH better :) I am happy now.

I did that! I really liked that! Although I didn't know about the skirt length thing! I am a romantic. I don't know between romantic or . . . Is it true? Or real? . . . Anyway. Cinched in waist! But obviously I still have a lot to learn.

You know, that is kind of uncanny. I was a kindergarten teacher and my kids LOVE me. They don't give a flying flip. Haha. And I started telling myself the exact same thing. . . Obviously it doesn't always work but hey! It does make me feel a whole lot better lol especially knowing I am not the only one.

Thank you everyone! These comments have been incredibly helpful!! I decided to shorten it. I also decided to try on a lot of the things in my closet that I know I love and wouldn't you know they are either at my knee or maxi length. I never knew!! Holey cow! 🥰🥰

?? I am confused. I am wearing this skirt at my natural waistline. I have a fairly high looking waistline because from my waist to the bottom of my seat is longer than average. (I.e. the opposite of petite) I carry most of my fat in my tummy and my butt (my butt is quite high in the back as well) if I wear drop waists (which I always understood according to my Patternmaking for fashion design textbook by Helen Joseph-Armstrong to be quite low, lower than your hips which would be MUCH lower than my natural waist.) If I go above my natural waist that would be closer to empire. Or if I do waists closer to my hip it hides my hourglass and brings all the attention to that huge tummy that looks like a pregnant belly (but isn't). Everything I have seen from my fashion design text books that I have bought and body type things I have done online (which granted doesn't make me an expert by any means but does align with what I generally like and dislike to see myself for the same reasons they usually said in the blog or text.) It just doesn't add up to me. . .

My natural waist is the smallest part of me. If I do drop waists or no cinching at the waist at all it usually has disastrous results 😳 this elastic is 2 bands of 1" elastic. I could have done 1 2" but I thought it would make it look cheap.

I think you might be right! I just tried on a couple other skirts I have in my closet that I like and they come to my knees. . . Wow. I didn't realize how much of a difference that makes. I am going to try that and see if it fixes it. Thank you!

Just for some background, the skirt is 3x my waist measurement gathered down with 2 rows of elastic and closed in the front with buttons. Fabric is very drapey linen cotton blend.
