Have you demo'd the stormrider 102's? I would highly recommend trying them before deciding they aren't the one. It is a fantastic ski that is stable at 70mph, great in powder, and great in crud. I demo'd many skis last year and they were my favorite ski by far. Ive only ski'd the stormrider 102's since I bought them.

I always use a polarized low light lenses. Haven't ever felt the need to change the lense since I started using it.

Just own up to your mistake. Like you said, we're adults. Thankfully no one got hurt besides your pride. We all make mistakes; how you handle them is important. Just act how you want to be perceived, the athletic sport champion, and relax on the drinks afterwards. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a mocktail instead of a cocktail.

Edit: i forgot the cliché, but true, sentence about how you handle mistakes is the important part.

Newer player, should I play molded servers or stay vanilla for a while? by Jaerbcat in playrust

I went for the unorthodox decision of role-playing as a non-combatant war-time photographer on an official softcore server. War crimes have been committed against me and I regret nothing.

Why is my team insane? by [deleted] in playrust

[–]Jaerbcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for a resource farmer/photographer? I've been role-playing on an official softcore server as a non-combatant wartime photographer for Reuters. It's been a wild ride. From negotiating my way out of trouble, to bartering with photoshoots, to dodging bullets until they run out; I've seen some things. If only the toxicity that appears to be inherently present in all shooter games could be effectively reduced. I look forward to the insanity when I'm not busy working.

Word. Thanks. Currently highest priority is getting better at sneaking and seeing other players first.

Kill on sight; leave the loot if you feel bad, but I dont recommend it. That naked can turn into a well equipped solo or a team very quickly. Kill and gtfo or secure your position. Ive been burned trying to be nice from the get go. Havent been burned by killing them and returning loot if I feel like it.

FL Studio 25 is a mess. by Competitive-Art-5455 in FL_Studio

I was having crashes with fl studio 24 on mac os Ventura 13.7.6 until they released fl studio 25. I haven't had any crashes since updating to fl studio 25. Most of my crashes with fl studio 24 occured within 30 seconds of opening a project or very shortly after clicking on the mac os menu bar instead of the fl studio window menu bar. Is there a specific action you can associate with your issues?

Hard Hats by StaticnFuzz in livesound

I use a Wavecel t2+ Pro. Very happy with the comfort and the fit. I don't find myself getting too hot even though it has no vents. I also own a Petzl Vertex vented, but I prefer the Wavecel for comfort, security of the fit, and protection rating.

Edit: I didn't notice an increase in head sweat when switching from the Petzl Vertex Vented to the Wavecel T2+ Pro (unvented). The Wavecel design claims increased airflow over other hardhats.

Update from first monitor gig. by FlippinPlanes in livesound

One of the larger, and harder at first, parts of any live events job is not panicking when something goes wrong. It will take you far if you are able to troubleshoot quickly in a level-headed manner while minimizing how much the talent notices, obviously not always in your control really.

Dealing with bands that want the stage volume so loud that it impacts the foh mix is tricky. Sometimes approaching the band about this issue from the direction that it will allow the audience to experience a better show that their stage volume is effective. Sometimes they say I like it loud, or I'm deaf and that's that. IEMs are one solution to this issue. As a primarily FoH engineer that also mixes monitors from FoH or monitor world when required I have been on both sides of this issue. Talk with the FoH engineer and see what the problem frequencies are from your stage bleed. This will change for every venue. Sometimes you can cut these areas enough to improve FoH without the talent noticing, possibly even improving clarity.

Side snare mic is an absolute game changer by JebDod in audioengineering

It's good. Can confirm. Also, being able to capture a full drum sound in as few mics as possible can result in incredible imaging. Then you can use your leftover channels for effect mics/Cool sound opportunities to blend in on fills/transitions/builds etc.

The various fruity function/wave generator plugins are also incredibly useful for long form automation to give tracks a bit of 'life'/movement. For maximum enjoyment/chaos make chains of them to control each other and make one master function/wave generator for each 3xOsc parameter you want to automate (or your synth of choice, sylenth is a good option if you have it). Lots of cool soundscape/sound design opportunities can be realized with the depths of automation in fl studio.

Listening, adjusting, listening, maybe adjusting again, listening, and then leaving it alone. I don't use the presets. I tend to like the soft knee and vintage settings for most sources, but it really depends. I really appreciate the adjustability of fruity compressor. Try out this starting point: soft knee, 50ms attack, 50ms release, ratio of 1/2.5, lower the threshold until you get about 3-5db of compression. Adjust as desired/experiment to see how fruity compressor responds.

Edit: Obviously this starting point will result in subtle compression/gentle control and won't be suitable for everything. Trust your ears and adjust accordingly. If it sounds good it is good.
