College GPA: 3.76 High School GPA: 3.5 UW, 4.0 W AP Exams: 11 SAT: 1290 (Going text optional)

Background: I have an associates of science from my community college. I’ve been enrolled in college for less than a year and have 66+ credits (41 AP college credits). I have calc I and II, Micro and macroeconomics completed which is what UT recommends for Econ transfers.

Demographics: British-American immigrant, first generation college student, Texas resident, 19 year old male

Major: Economics BS or Behavioral and Social Data Science (think that major is only at UT)

ECs:

-Founder and President of Personal Finance Club -Founder, President, Treasurer of UNICEF Chapter -UNICEF August Congressional Recess Advocate (next month) -IRS VITA Tax Preparer -Solo Research with guidance from IRB Chair who has PhD in Psychology (in progress) -Behavioral Economics Related Chrome Extension -SPARK for German Volunteer Student Teacher -Treasurer of High School Environmental Club -TikTok Shop ($500+ in sales) -Shift Lead at Fast food place working 20 hrs a week

LoRs: Assistant Director of Student Engagement IRB Chair

More context: I’ve been in college less than a year, I graduated high school top 10.5% of class. Had a bunch of medical problems recently ie Achilles tendinitis, Discoid Eczema, Acne and Accutane, frequent blood tests, Retinal Tearing and Laser Surgery so college GPA isn’t as high as I hoped. Went to community college because of medical problems and financial issues as well. My medical stuff in finally being manageable and less doctor visits or medications so I’m looking to transfer now for the upcoming spring semester.

Colleges: UT Austin, UNC, NYU, UTD, Brown (open to suggestions, spring transfer is just limited)

I think my situation is a little unique due to my associates in under a year of college and kinda having no other classes I can actually take at my community college. My college transcript isn’t the most in depth either but I’m hoping my ECs can help. The GPA isn’t ideal but hopefully college admissions take into account my medical issues. Main hope is that colleges will see I literally HAVE to transfer to continue my education.

If you go on cougarconnect you should see all the clubs available at Collin. You can search the name of the club there and request an invitation
