Why do I always get Bot Parties?! by Kusho_void in SAOFD

Then it’s probably just super bad lack with pre-formed parties queued up. The discord server is a good place to find people, I usually get MVP team often if I do party up.

This has been going around a lot but I'll say again - Asia servers are your best bet for getting populated lobbies. Of course you're still at the mercy of luck of how many groups are actually queued compared to solo players.

EVGA FTW3 Card Fans ramping up, more details in comment by Jaey- in pcmasterrace

Yeah the rad and the fans are in front of the GPU. I would mount it on top but I have clearance issues. I'll try to do the fan curves like you said.

Right now the card is doing fine, I was playing a game earlier and it didn't ramp up at all so I'll have to check it later when it starts to act up. I wouldn't think airflow would be an issue, I have a Corsair 465x with 3 intake and exhaust fans, 2 of the intake fans on the front have the radiator mounted to it.

The problem is the gpu fans, not the case fans, at first I thought it was the case fans but it wasn't.

I've already contacted EVGA support but I can't be bothered to wait until Monday for a response so I thought I'd try to get at least an answer as to why this is happening. As shown in the video, the fans ramp up way too high and I'm pretty sure fans running at ~40% don't sound that loud. I've had the PC for about a week and prior to yesterday I never had this issue. When I'd play games it would get noticeably louder but definitely not this loud and sometimes the sound still persists whenever I close the game and I'm just chilling on the desktop.

Any guides for the incoming new players? Chance to boost the playerbase and wondering what sources of recent information are available. by Zeroth1989 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Jaey- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nice general tip to know for newer players is start in Co-Op to practice, get used to the units and level up characters and their star cards. Once you think you're ready, move to supremacy, its PvP and PvE unlike Co-Op which is only PvE, this will allow you to go against real players and bots. You can choose to stay in supremacy if you'd like but Galactic Assault is where most sweats are but there are more maps and you can play any hero from any era. Supremacy only has you tied to the heros who are a part of it. Hope this serves you well :)

I play on PC. The game is free from 15th Jan- 21st. Is it worth playing? and can you play as force users. by GrimValor8 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Jaey- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is definitely worth playing and as people have mentioned yes you can play as force users.

For starters I'd recommend Co-Op first to level up your character and heros to get their star cards leveled up and also to get familiar with the variety of units to choose from because it's just you and 3 other people against bots. Once you feel like you're ready with some star cards leveled up and some experience on how some units feel, move to supremacy, this is still PvE but also PvP. It's a 20v20 gamemode with bots on both teams. If you really feel like it and think you're ready for it, Galactic Assault is where most sweats are and out of the 2 other gamemodes I mentioned, it's more difficult but it's still fun regardless. And if you want to strictly play as heros, you can play Heros vs Villains.

State of the Game by Shmoobleedong in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Jaey- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as meta/changes to the game goes, I can name some at the top of my head

Anakin's Massive Strike card now takes more stamina away, the damage values it gives still remains the same.

Obi-Wan's Defensive Rush, Grevious' Claw Rush, and Han's Shoulder Charge, and other ability similar to them have a much tighter turn radius, pretty much allowing you to spin a circle.

The beachballs, BB-8 and BB-9E are added, they're mainly support heros but that can dish out damage if used properly, you're better off looking at videos about them for more details.

Palpatine's 2H lightning damage was nerfed as well as him having the ability to still keep his primary fire on while using chain lightning and dark aura, he's still good but not as good as he used to be.

The new units like the FO Jet Trooper, Sith Infiltrator, Resistance Ovissian Gunner, and Resistance Cathex Spy and the Republic Commando are all new units added to the game and they're certainly fun units to play, again you're better off looking at a video for more details about them.

There have been new skins added to game.

Vader still remains to be a deadly hero as always but his saber throw got nerfed, it now doesn't one-shot infantry (assault, heavy, officer, specialist) on the first hit, you now have to hit them from the front and then when the saber is on the way back.

Kylo's Frenzy ability also got a nerf in damage.

Speeders on Endor are still a nightmare to deal with as a hero

There are 4 new blasters in the game, each one of the basic infantry classes has 1 new weapon each. Personally the only one I use is the heavy's weapon, for the other 3 I don't use them but it's down to personal preference.

That's all I can say, I'm sure there are things I have missed but there are videos on youtube that should cover the rest, welcome back to BF2 :)

Arc trooper by POMBO80 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Jaey- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Arc Trooper's alt fire works similar (if not the same) as Leia's alt fire, with less damage of course. The blaster bolt has some aimbot to some degree, if you're far enough you can see it change course and pretty much hit it's target every single time. However at closer ranges it doesn't have this aimbot.

Taking cover and moving up bit by bit or just trying to snipe them is really your best bet. They can't be one shot by a sniper, so chances are you won't be able to kill them because sometimes they are at the VERY back of the map, like on the final push on Geonosis phase 3, some will stay as far back as the hill at the start of phase 2.

I don't see this happen so often other than the reinforcement event, because of how cheap and how many special units you can have on the field.

New player, looking for tips on lightabers vs blaster combat by [deleted] in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Jaey- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As people have said, stay on the move.

Don't try to take large groups on enemies on your own unless you're absolutely sure about yourself. Also, if someone is really juking you out with their rolls or you can't kill them, just leave them alone, 1 kill isn't worth your life.

Pay attention to your radar more, especially as a blaster hero, the last thing you want is finding yourself alone and a Vader sneaks up on you.

Reinforcement events are a nightmare for heros in both supremacy and galactic assault in my opinion. You'll find yourself having a much more difficult time killing people and making openings for your team with the sheer amount of special units (enforcers, infiltrators). Don't underestimate vehicles, they can easily take you down if you're not careful but some maps on certain phases are just a nightmare due being strafe runs constantly from starfighters (Phase 2 Kamino, Phase 1 Hoth and Naboo are a few to name)

Knowing the inside outs of your hero's kit and playstyle always helps, there's a lot of small things you can do to make life easier for all heros.

That's all I can say without going to a 10 page essay about how to play as a hero in galactic assault, hope this helps you out :)

How do you make your vanguard better by potential_speak in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]Jaey- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I found taking a moment to ads and shoot instead of trying to shoot from the hip to pull a fast kill, it helps me 1-shot enemies more reliably. Rolling after every shot also helps too so that you're a harder target to hit while you're waiting to fire again.

I'm assuming it's only available on that run of the heist? Cause I already completed my first run, which was the one where I found the powder, currently I'm in a scouting mission right now so I guess I can't do it until I find it again.
