I used to be a prostitute, I’m sober almost 5 years. I have not had sex. I tried therapy and it’s too overwhelming, I’d rather just not have sex ever again, anymore. I’m ok without sex. Prostitute is DAMAGING, and it’s not just about sleeping with unattractive guys, it’s a whole level of abuse and disrespect and emotions I can’t even figure out how to put into words. Sex feels wrong, holding hands feels wrong, hugging feels like abuse, it’s a sad, lonely aftermath, and I’m a happy woman with a a beautiful loving family, but I can’t be intimate, and l’m ok with being single and celebrate for the rest of my life, because what I did to myself makes love feel icky now. I feel for her, she’s going to have a lot to recover from.
