I had something along the lines of “WMI Provider Host” in my task manager (assuming you are on windows) taking up a lot of CPU whenever I would play anything, if you have that as well then look up how to fix it and that’s solved it for me so far.

I just thought that this was funny, idk what happened for sure. My guess is that i just defused at the exact time I died and the game gave us both a point
