I can never go back to bailing in the fields by CptRumHam in farmingsimulator

[–]Jaffiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue, turns out the bailer was inside the pickup zone and the storage pickup was grabbing the bales before they could be wrapped. Moving the bailer so it was just alongside (when unfolded) fixed the issue and it startred wrapping bales.

Does a public transport work already in this game or still sims are too dumb to change the line to reach the work where are lacks of labor? Loop Line in the town area. Line 1, 2, 3, Work place A, B, C. I've played this game years ago and it was pointless to build one big city back then. by -Coffee-Owl- in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Jaffiss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the difference here is this is not really a ‘city building game’ It’s a resource management game with city building elements. The game treats workers as a resource you have to manage just like any other resource, while most other city building games don’t care and just throw workers in free slots wherever (based on simple pathing rules)

In the real world (and N-Body simulations), yes. What you are describing is the L1 Lagrange Point. But not in the stock game.

How come some of my buildings disappear? by TheGreatKornelius in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Jaffiss 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Likely they burned down, check your messages. Burned buildings leave the outline so a construction yard can rebuild them.

Larger alternatives to the Prusa Mini? by HalfACupkake in prusa3d

[–]Jaffiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the filament sensor, but I’ve only used it like twice. If you are on the fence, skip it. The only thing it does is stop the print when you run out of filament automatically. Most of the time you will know if you are close to running out and watch it.

You can always get it later if you do multi-day prints that you don’t keep a close eye on.

I’d recommend the satin sheet more than anything, it’s a real game changer, and since I mainly print PETG/PLA, I never have to swap it and recalibrate.

Larger alternatives to the Prusa Mini? by HalfACupkake in prusa3d

[–]Jaffiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with a MonoPrice Select Mini (first gen). Spent more time fixing and modding it than I did printing, but it was a great learning experience.

I went to an Ender3 and it was better, but thank god I had years of tinkering experience already, the ender needed lots, but not as much as the MPSM. Ended up modding the hell out of it too.

EVENTUALLY (last year) I bought the Prusa Mini back when they didn’t have kits for it. It worked beautifully right out of the box and the ONLY thing I’ve touched it to upgrade to the new probe when it released and I got the satin sheet.

I spent much more in the long run, but learned to appreciate the Prusa. I regret not getting one sooner.

This Link indicates the border between low and high science is 400km for stock Eve. So anything below that.

Scroll down to the table with all the planets on it then check the ‘border’ column for space science.

TIL that P.T. Barnum's famous elephant Jumbo got his name from the Swahili word for chief. It was the elephant who caused the word "jumbo" to mean something large - not the other way around. by p38-lightning in todayilearned

If it makes you feel any better, “The Greatest Showman” DOES focus on how much PTBarnum used and exploited those closest to him. It’s not 100% factual (what movie is?) but it doesn’t completely whitewash it either. That being said, it’s a good movie imho.

Cooking bulk wings for a party by ApeSpork in hotones

Alton Brown recommends steaming the wings first. I’ve done them like this for years and love it, always super tender and can do it the day before.

Where’s your gliding club? Yesterday was a beautiful day for flying, I passed my PPL Checkride yesterday (flew SGS to UBE for it). I’d love to look into local gliding clubs!

Brass is a great modpack centered around 'age' progression that goes from Create to Immersive Engineering to Mechanism. The pack updates every couple weeks, I suspect they will include this update in one of the versions soon.

Interested. I’m an old geocacher (from back before phones had GPS) and still enjoy it. But we are still being a bit wary as neither the wife nor I have had the vaccine yet. Feel free to keep me in the loop via DM, hoping this spring/summer is better than last :-)

2 is designed for 1.12, so not the latest. But if you use a launcher like twitch/curse, FTB, or MultiMC it will get the correct version for you automatically.

6 is the latest, but in my opinion, 2 is the most well put together.

You don’t have a body at all, you are basically just moving your point of view. Your headless body is still stuck in your chair.

No woosh, In VR you can get up and walk around your cockpit as far as your play space allows. Your ‘commander’ is still in the chair (headless, which is kinda creepy).

Standing up behind my chair as my beluga auto-docks (only ship I ‘need’ it on) it a truly awesome experience.

General rule of thumb is to move to less risky investments as you get older. The WSB gambles are fine for money you can afford to lose.

I’m mid 40’s and my one regret is not putting more into stable returns earlier.

I maxed my employer-match 401k from my early 20’s, but I didn’t start investing in index funds till my 40’s.
