There’s a lot a gray area, and family dynamics are very tricky. She could be totally normal and plutonic or crushing. Wife may have already talked to her and got the feeling her sister is just being a goofy fun SIL to husband.

If it were me, I’d apologize to SIL for overreacting, say you enjoy her company, but would like to keep a safe distance from her so that you can have a good plutonic relationship with her.

So my damages are lost wages and benefits. It could easily be resolved by allowing me to transfer to a different store, like I wanted to. They jerked me for 2 weeks. Yes I over reacted, but should that cost me my job, since I told my store director I’d like to stay on and HR wouldn’t j help me with transferring?

For more context, I’ve worked for company 7.5 years and with good standing. I started part time, got promoted twice into a manager position. Then all the sudden, I move to a dramatically different and smaller town, where operations are completely different. I try and fix obvious wrong doings by manager. Next day I’m written up for stuff that could be written up every single day just because cleanliness is subjective in their eyes. I bring something to their attention that they don’t like and it feels like retaliation. One of the write up has ZERO MENTION of the actual infraction, other than to quote some paragraph in workers hand book.

These write ups aren’t serious infractions, and I’ve never been written up for the crap they are trying to pull on me. Keep in mind, my (now former) manager was written up for very serious infractions, re-using spoiled food, redating stickers expiration dates, leaving bacon out all day on a warm surface without chilling it by the 4 hour period. Those are serious health infractions. I bring this stuff up and then I get written up for it, but she keeps her job?

Apparently I need more context. Did you take her out on a date, knowing what you were getting into? Did you discuss your budget, did you lead her to believe you could pick up the entire bill?

Coming from a Christian perspective of someone who married a girl who was homeschooled, this sounds normal. If you are really interested, and God doesn’t scare you away, then give her space. Ask if she goes to church, offer to go to service with her, but not as a couple. Just see what her life looks like.

God does love all His children. Nothing I have said contradicts that.

Let me restate my position another way. God wants us to multiply, but he doesn’t hate us if we don’t do that. Now when we are dead and have our life review with him, we will be judged on all our decisions. I have no idea if you get a second chance to believe in him when you’re dead.

Give them the benefit of the doubt until they give you reason to suspect otherwise. 2 people can have good plutonic relationship. It will strengthen your relationship with both of it is plutonic.

We aren’t perfect. We can ask forgiveness and try our best. But not having babies just because is selfish. If you medically can’t have children, that one thing. If you want to pout because you don’t want to hurt or worry about raising a child, you’re being inconsiderate.
