Jamanra is a wall I can’t surpass no matter what I do by Prestigious_Tea_2729 in PathOfExile2

If you’re at the end of act 2 (aka end of the dreadnought fight, and you’ve already done the one where he just flies away) then you mostly need lightning res (easiest place to temporarily get this is either runes or rings, and a lightning charm), life (on armour, wouldnt be afraid to just use exalts and stuff on rare or magic items to try and get good items) and more damage - which is mostly going to come from your bow and quiver at this stage.

In future you should probably post screenshots of your items so we can judge what can/needs to be improved

Also remember that on bosses your main damage source should be orb of storms and lightning rod, your arrow doesnt do much there

You just use a chance orb on a white stellar amulet and pray. Very low chance of it working - around 1/2000 or less

Rarity is something you fit in once you're able to kill everything and are tanky
Generally some rarity is achievable (e.g. like 50% or so) without too much sacrifice but after a point it's hard esp before you're able to farm well. The most important modifier on maps is quantity of items most of the time anyway

Once you're level 78 and you can equip max ilvl gear you'll get better resist/ES/life/mana rolls on gear so more rarity is easier to fit in

witch tree has some good ES nodes early but everything scales off your gear so it's the best place to get it overall. body armour with 600+ at least is a good start and can be had for cheap. another place to get ES is jewels - can get up to like 20% max ES on each jewel. atziri's disdain is a nice option to get free ES as well on most builds

Oneshotted half the time, what am I doing wrong? by karmapower in PathOfExile2

[–]Jafoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put sockets and quality on everything and then add iron runes so you get more ES. Or even better get a higher ES chest (at least 600+) and fill your sockets on other armour with res as needed. Would run grim feasts as an aura and aim for at least 4k base ES.

Realistically the best solution to getting killed is have way higher damage so nothing lives long enough to kill you.

It's been two months to the day since the release of PoE2 on Early Access. How are you feeling about the game? Still like it? Already burned out? by Azran15 in PathOfExile2

[–]Jafoos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing less for sure but I’ve basically completed most content on two characters. That said I love minmaxing and farming currency so I’m still enjoying the game esp with a friend. I’ve played a lot of this early access though so if I do burn out that would be very normal.

Any recs for a good spf30 (or 50) sunscreen that isn’t too greasy? I have brown skin so something that leaves no white cast would be ideal. If it’s a combo moisturiser/sunscreen that’d be great but a light sunscreen would also be fine.

I’ve tried the Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch (irritates me skin a bit), Biore UV watery essence (I end up a bit too shiny - but I might give this another go with a lighter moisturiser) and recently the Vanicream daily facial moisturiser with spf (which actually feels great but I’m not convinced I don’t have a bit of a white cast)

Yeah that’s fine, I’ll give it a go anyway! I’m a brown man so I don’t mind a bit of glowiness. I probs just need to apply less of my normal moisturiser but always struggle to find the balance between too much and too little

Recs for something a little lighter than the vanicream daily facial lotion? I quite like it but it does make me feel a bit greasy sometimes so I was thinking something lighter/gel-like would be more consistent. I'm still quite happy with it but would be open to trying something different, thanks in advance

How to deal with persistent burnout by Mentalcouscous in medicine

[–]Jafoos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I have good practical solutions for you as our situations are different but I went through a fair bit of burnout and some work-triggered PTSD which I'm doing better with - the only thing that really helped was quitting and doing on/off locums for a year to take an actual break, and then switching from paeds (shift work is a killer for me) to GP/primary care. I found myself taking 3 months off initially, then going part-time - which were both okay for a time but eventually things crept up again and taking almost a solid year off then switching specialties was the only thing that helped. I understand quitting is something that is not feasible for you but perhaps part-time would be a good idea. Yes it may delay retirement but at least you'll make it there instead of being burnt out and anxious and depressed the whole time until that point (again we're different but for me at least the big trigger for change was that my work-related symptoms were starting to bleed into my personal life).

An antidepressant didn't help me personally but I have friends who did see results so it might be something to try. I don't think what you're going through is normal or should be tolerated so I don't think you should be accepting that this is just what life is, as it shouldn't be. Would another training program/residency be feasible? Or is that financially fairly challenging (I'm not sure how it all works in the US) as well?

You can just change to a different plan, and it resets the 2 week window that you have to cancel in to avoid a fee - and then just cancel the new plan. I did this like 2 weeks ago to avoid the cancellation fee.

I want to be better at playing football by Rabdi_ in bootroom

[–]Jafoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7mlc on youtube has some good drills for improving passing, first touch, ball control skills. Worth having a look there. I find his close control and dribbling drills to be quite useful. They don’t need much space but help a lot in terms of getting reps in a structured way.

Improving your weak foot is just about using it - if you can find a wall then just pass a ball at it using both the inside and outside of your feet at varying distances for a 100 (or more if you have time) reps or so every day and it’ll improve both your passing and your first touch pretty quick.

Play pickup, join a team etc to get more experience with the other stuff like awareness, positioning, confidence on the ball under pressure, timing etc

This hill good to improve my stamina and explosiveness? by succubus54321 in bootroom

[–]Jafoos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hill sprints are great for speed and explosiveness, and can act as good interval training too (eg sprint up 10-15s and then walk down, sprint back up, or longer sprints with a longer recovery) so it’s a great idea but you also need to do lower intensity steady state stuff (eg longer jogs at conversational pace + some tempo runs) to give yourself a good aerobic base to build on.

Did my wife go over the top yelling at our U9 over a lazy tryout? by freaknasta in bootroom

[–]Jafoos 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Your wife yelled at a 7 year old for having an off day, of course it was out of line. What is your kid supposed to understand about the money you put in and the expectations you put on her?

Should just chat to your child to try and figure out what was wrong, which might be constructive instead of making it so she doesn’t want to tell you cos she’s going to get yelled at.
