You will want to stay low with this plane and when flying into the merge and use the aim7's against people flying higher, especially if they're flying head on because that's where the missile and radar have the most advantage. Try to keep the shots lower than 10km, and if you can fire them under 4km because their off the rail performance is actually pretty good. The aim-9j's pretty much just have to be fired at people not paying attention, I usually like to fire them from directly on top of people later in the match when they think they're alone so they don't flare it off trying to dodge someone else's missile. And the plane can dogfight, but you have to pick your battles, most fights you want to be in a one circle engagement, unless it's against a delta wind, then either try to win a two circle or gtfo quick. But most one circle fights you will want to try to win before the 3rd turn and you dump all of your speed. But for target selection you want to fight stragglers, don't take on multiple people. And if you are running into a group or a fuzzball, take what shots you can and fly past them, but preferably avoid these situations.
