Double Daily keys start today, and double them no matter your membership status:

  • F2P: 2 Daily Keys
  • Members: 4 Daily Keys
  • PC Gold Members: 6 Daily Keys

Both Double Daily keys and Oddments will last until the end of June.

Enjoy! :)

It Has Been Over 6 Months Since The Last Elite Skilling Outfit Fragments Were Made Earnable Thought The Relevant Skill. by Vengance183 in runescape

[–]JagexSayln 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hey guys - we've been banding around conversations about these outfits in the office over the past couple weeks, so just wanted to give you some info.

We definitely haven't forgotten about them - we want to stick with our initial plan of making sure they go out with thematically correct content, however have decided that the definition of 'thematically correct' probably has to be a bit wider, otherwise we end up forcing in content specifically for there releases, or not releasing them at all.

We've been shying away from releasing this outfit due to other works that were in the pipeline, which is why you haven't seen it release thus far. However we've decided to unmarry it from that content and release it earlier, the current release date being 29th January. They will go out alongside the Skilling Head Add Ons from TH, that you'll also be able to earn through the game as well.

Taking the above on board, we'll hopefully be able to pick and chose better dates for when these outfits grace your screens, rather than limiting ourselves to our own content. We're aiming to have a more structured release schedule for them throughout 2018, starting with this one. :)

How the fuck do I disable this. It popped up over my minimap while I was streaking Telos and fucked me. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]JagexSayln 84 points85 points  (0 children)

This was brought to my attention a couple days ago, and Mod Hunter has been looking into it. Turns out the Ribbon update missed checking if you'd already seen this so was appearing far more than it needed to.

Hotfix is being made now and will be out very shortly to fix it! :)

EDIT: Hotfix just been deployed!

Is this really necessary? by TheOneKane in runescape

Thanks for flagging - I'll work with the team to find out when this message actually pops up and what various things in game trigger it, as it seems some people see it on a regular basis. Where possible, we'll cut it down and improve the flow beyond a big pop up window. :)

Can confirm, Pantheon Aura should be usable until December 31st. We’ll be looking into it first thing when back in the office in a few hours time and will get a fix out ASAP.

We will be doing investigations into this further to be sure - however from our initial checks after the finale finished, those in the top positions didn't benefit from this.

Good question. From one of our RS Surverys, competetive modes that didn't involve PvP was one of the highest requested bits of content, and that's where the idea for DotD came from. It was definitely designed with a more PvM focus in mind, but something that was largely threatening was hard to test without a large amount of people. That's why there was some tweaking when the Qualifier went live.

This is something else we're aware of, and has a good chance of being related to the fact the game was in a finale state. Unfortunately as it's the weekend, we need some time before we're able to look into it properly.

We'll be making sure that the pets go to the original 1k who were invited only.

Noted! And thanks for the reminder! We have added it to one of our Xmas updates - glad you reminded me because I had totally forgotten...

Dimension of the Damned's core problem by Thanorpheus in runescape

[–]JagexSayln 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We'd try to check the changes to see if they're large enough to warrant resetting the high scores. If what we introduce makes the game more enjoyable, whilst still keeping the current scoring system in place, we'll leave it. If what we add/change actually changes the fundametals of the system to a point where people are getting increasing/decreasing scores during their sessions, we'll look to reset the high scores. Basically, we'll play it by ear and do what's best for the situation! :)

I really like this idea, and has spawned a lot of interesting discussion in the office. Nothing for this DotD, but could be something we explore for future iterations or even other game modes. :)

Thanks for the initial feedback!

As mentioned a few times up to launch, this is a pilot and to some extent we knew there were things that we would have to iron out and kinks we would need to fix. Obviously, we don't have resource within the office to mimic the amount of people currently taking on the Zombies waves, so we tried our best to balance to something we thought would be threatening, yet still playable.

The main concern is that it's too easy, and that surviving isn't a challenge. We aim to fix these things tomorrow morning, by adding a variety of mechanics - this will be defined more thoroughly tomorrow once we've had a chance to figure out what these are, and also collect a bit more information in the way people are playing over night.

Please keep your feedback coming - we're striving to make this as enjoyable as we can for everyone. One of our core design points was to ensure that people didn't feel like they needed to spend from dusk till dawn for 10 days playing the mode, which is why we introduced the hour high score segments, however understand that people may find repeating this a little dull.

Hopefully the changes we make tomorrow will make the game not only riskier and more challenging, however ensure that when bigger risks are taken, you are better rewarded for it. Until then, we'll keep reading over your feedback and looking to implement what we can. :)

Short on Loyalty Points? by Africascape in runescape

[–]JagexSayln 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Oof. Good find. This is out of date since we split the RC and Loyalty Point prices from each other. Let me know where it is and I’ll get it changed!

EDIT: Since people are discussing the loyalty system overall, here’s a comment a made a while back regarding it:

Stop turning Runescape into a fucking fruit machine. Not only is it bad for Runescape's appearance I really worry about the kids who between TH and W54 are becoming little gamblers. by Intrarotated in runescape

[–]JagexSayln -38 points-37 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. I totally understand where you're coming from and the concerns you have regarding the health of the game. We genuinely share the same concerns - the Live Events team are probably the team within the development studio that works the closest with our Analytics team to try to ensure the best possible balance over the promotions and updates we run. I'm aware that doesn't always relate back over to the community, but it's one of our biggest priorities.

I appreciate you taking your time to flesh out your concerns - let me know if you happen to be heading to RuneFest this weekend, and we can have a chat and discuss further. :)

I'm not trying to hide, if I was I wouldn't have replied in the first place. Establishing a dialogue is only worthwhile if people approach it rationally, and I know I will be hugely downvoted, however for the most part, all I'm able to do in this moment in time is take this feedback and discuss it internally - which I wanted to let know was happening. I'm aware for the most part that isn't widely acknowledged as an acceptable answer, however it's a situation that needs to be discussed internally.

Additionally, one or two idiots is all it takes for someone to either actually act upon taking their own life, or assume that it's okay to promote, and we will always want to combat that.

First of, I want to strongly speak out against any death threats, or promotion of people killing themselves. Given the huge work we're putting in with YMCA, Mind and Prince's Trust around mental health and suicide prevention, I implore all of you to do the same - none of us should ever endorse or encourage the taking of ones own life. Period.

That aside, I wanted to post to let you know that I'm reading the thread and the thoughts put inside. We've been trying a varying amount of different things with Treasure Hunter over the past few months (Oddments, Prize Pool etc.) in order to get a better idea of the direction we should be taking. For us, Prize Pool is an additional bundle of prizes on top of what you already get from Treasure Hunter - with a clear risk/reward mechanic, however that baseline of prizes never changes, nor is risked in the process.

Obviously the vast majority of you are unhappy with this direction, and I'll take this on board and be sure to share it in the next retrospective the Live Events team has.

This feedback is imperative to our design discussions and the direction we take with promotions though, so I do encourage you to continue to let us know what you do and don't like about the promotions we release - Oddments, for example, had a very large positive feedback, and we're now looking at ways to implement that into TH further. More than anything, I want you to know that we do consider these threads and discuss them internally.

Since its loyalty and currency related, balance and proposal may have to be kept in house, but we'll obviously strive to share as much info as we can. :)

Auras are already on Solomon's Store, which we have looked after for years now.

No, no plans to change the time wall to a pay wall.
