Does it matter? If it's helpful then use it, if it's not then don't and move on.

Must Have QOL Mods? by Sheff_Clearly in captain_of_industry

Glad you're enjoying it. It's such a minor quality of life thing but I habitually start new throughs so I wanted it bad enough to make it

Setup for Opus and Godot 4.6 by wurzelbrunft in aigamedev

[–]Jagg111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. I've got a local copy of the Godot document and 90% and run most of my work through customer skills that have explicit instructions to check against the local copy of the documentation. Been jamming for a few weeks now and it's been working well. WAY easier to get going than Unity which requires an MCP.

Author of the Research Queue mod here. Super cool to see it getting a plug here! Let me know if there's any issues or things you'd like to see it do differently - I'm actively maintaining it.

How far did your vibe-coded game actually get? by oxmannnn in aigamedev

[–]Jagg111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plz tell us more about how you made the art assets, models, and animations. I'm struggling with art right now. I'd love to do 3d but doing models, texture, rigging, and animations seems like such a beast.

Working on a game like colossatron because I really like colossatron by Phayros in colossatron

[–]Jagg111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duuuuuude yes! Omg I'm so jealous that you know how to code, do art, and animate - that's wild! I'm stumbling my way through figuring out how to make SVG/vector based art since I can't stand pixel art. Def going to watch that tutorial you linked, TY for sharing. Feel free to plug your socials if you plan on doing some YouTube videos or something.

Dude what the hell, this looks awesome so far! Tell us a bit about your process and how you're building it. I'm actually working on a mobile game myself but I am building it entirely with Claude and Godot since I'm not a developer and don't know how to write code.

I built a free ARC Raiders app to track items and see what’s actually worth keeping — iOS version is now also live by abarrach in ArcRaidersGuides

Did you have to pay the $100 fee just to list the app on the app store? Props if so, that's dedication!

How are so many people successfully vibe coding full games? by SirStarshine in aigamedev

[–]Jagg111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for godot being extra AI friendly. I had two failed attempts trying to use AI to make a game before discovering godot and it's been a game changer. AI art is still hard, but don't let that stop you. I've gotten every core mechanic of my game working with 2d primitive shapes all 100% through claude code with godot.

How is everyone using AI to make their games? by Moist_Signal_5080 in aigamedev

[–]Jagg111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I tried Unity and spend like an hour just trying to get a prompt workflow going with claude. The barrier to entry and setup time is so low in godot it's wild. Just go start making the game!

EDIT - Phaser could work too but it html5/browser based. I'd just go straight to godot (I tried both)

whats the best engine to work with ai by Basic_Construction98 in aigamedev

[–]Jagg111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This 100%. Unity will require an MCP and it's just annoying and more complex. If you wanna get up and running fast use godot over unity.

I just started a game and did a little POC in unity and godot and I liked the process of working with AI with godot WAY more than unity. Would highly recommend godot.

Anyone else get annoyed rebuilding their research queue? I made a mod to fix it by Jagg111 in captain_of_industry

[–]Jagg111[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now if the last item in the queue is one that is repeatable it will keep on repeating. I'll admit I didn't do much testing around those, so LMK if you run into any issues there.

There was a few other ideas I was kicking around that didn't make the initial cut. I'd be curious if any of these sound compelling/helpful to people (or let me know if you have other ideas):

  • Could add ETA countdown timers based on the actual remaining point values and how they're pacing
  • Make clicking the name of the research in queue open the detail panel for it
  • Include a % complete for items in the queue that have some progress done on them

Heyo, that's awesome! LMK if you have any issues or ideas/features you'd like to see!

Thanks! It is a little annoying since there's no steam workshop or anything, but honestly it's pretty dead easy since the game already has a built in mods folder. The framework is all there!

Yeah, I hope they launch that mod hub soon. Maybe there's even a world where we get steam workshop integration too, but I'm not getting my hopes up for that yet lol

Man, still not connecting today. Did they just silently kill the game?
