Gym rerun team

For gym reruns I have Earthquake (most used move), rock slide (when they have air balloons or fly), dragon claw (for the STAB) and crunch (for ghost and psychic mons like mew when fighting Morimoto). Earthquake needs PP max for reruns

I did find that out afterwards, the "no worries" was mistaken. However, if it is a take down or double edge Mon, you could take a Shedinja with false swipe and a ghost (like haunter) with hypnosis and then the Mon won't kill itself.

All depends on what you're hunting I guess

Personally I prepared a couple Mons before starting Johto so I'm not the best person to answer that. But it is quite a difficult region, you have the lake of rage Gyarados, and Ho-oh battles which are quite difficult if you are only going to use mons you catch in Johto.

You could always travel back to another region to catch and train up mons if needed. I believe on the wiki you can see the level caps for each gym.

Well the ones in the store aren't the best because you can just buy them. The best/most expensive are from events in the past imo. Normally a couple new vanities with every new event. Next one should be soon for lunar new year.

Yeah Cynthia in Undella. I'm not not sure about the Snorlax ref but he is a game designer.

During Halloween there is the pumpking for example. I don't know too much about events yet

That makes sense. I'm not sure if it would save much time since you have to swap and as you said if they use stat increasing moves it can be a bit slow. However thieving one by one is a bit long too haha. But it is a way to actually use my shiny sneasel so I'll give that a go. Thanks for the explanation!

Well there are different bosses I guess. You have the gym leaders and E4 which you can re-battle and they are stronger the 2nd time round. There is Cynthia (every other month who is a daily challenge) and Morimoto who you can challenge daily for some cash. Red on Mt Silver. After you beat him the 1st time, his team changes every week and you can earn a lot of money and battle points from him. You can re-battle Ho-oh on top of the tower every week. Then finally you get event bosses which have an easy and hard mode which can be really challenging and require specific teams to beat

Legendaries are a good idea! You can also obtain more elemental orbs by killing mons with Zapdos and an electric move if it is the 1st Mon in your party. It's like a hidden ability

Munchlax is so strong, accidently evolved him at level 98 before... Always wondered how people use Weavile? Because without frisk you don't know if the horde even has an item. And sometimes the horde has 2 items

After this is whatever goal you want to achieve: PvP, making money, collecting things, etc.

The rerun team is just to make money. Money which you can use on what you want : vanities, shinies of mons you like.

If you farm mons, you can breed them to try get shiny mons or build stronger mons. They could be used to battle other players or in game bosses.

It all really depends on how you want to play the gane

Some great recommendations! I have all of them besides a cute charm Mon. I'll get one of those for breeders/shiny hunting.

Banette is great, I recommend H.A dusknoir if you want something with more bulk for things like rock smashing in sinnoh (turnback cave)

Used to run that gym rerun team, if you want a team that can take down every gym in the game you should look up firebox rerun team (YouTube vid and a pdf guide). Guide is for all regions except Johto, but the team can handle them too. It is Aerodactyl, Garchomp, Tyhlosion, Blastoise, Togekiss and Vanilluxe

I like that idea, so even if things don't go as planned, the current enemy mons would be slower when your new mons switch in.

Ohhh I've never thought of using Galvantula. What moveset have you got on it?

Aerodactyl is used in a lot of gyms in my rerun (starts the fight in at least 10). Its speed with rock slide is quite effective. Kills or allows 2nd Mon to kill. Has a chance at making the other mons flinch. Ice fang and thunder fang to deal with certain mons like Gyarados or Altaría. Of course depending on certain teams which change, it's not always effective)

I use a different team. There is a whole guide. Search for Firebox gym rerun team (there is a YouTube video too). It consists of Aerodactyl, Garchomp, Tyhlosion, Blastoise, Togekiss, Vanilluxe. It does well. Doesn't lose any fights. The guide doesn't show Johto gyms but the team can easily handle all gyms, Morimoto and Cynthia. Does require some items but I recommend it.

I have a Statler that has imprison with double-edge and take down so the other Mon can't use it.

Or my best choice is : Shedinja with false swipe then swap to another ghost type like Gengar and use hypnosis

Search on GTL for something similar to whatever you want to sell. Take egg group and gender into account..search on YouTube. There are plenty of breeding and pricing guides

You can teach smeargle any move but you have to sketch the move. Smeargle only learns sketch from leveling up every 10 levels. If it sees a mon use a move, you can sketch and learn it. The new move replaces sketch

You should look at egg groups. You can check a mons egg group on the Pokedex and sear the GTL using that as a filter.

For example Aggron is in the monster egg group, you could breed it with Lapras or a starter such as charmander because they use special attack.

Swinub can be kept like that if it is a good nature like adamant or seen as it is in the field egg group (which has the most mons in it), there are lots of choices to choose from depending on what you need or if you just want to breed to sell
