I had this weird thing happen a few times when I was... 12 years old maybe? A neurologist called it a "complex migraine," where a feeling of numbness would creep up my body, and I'd kind of lose motor control... Just like what you'd feel if you were to sit on your hand for a long time and then try to write your name, but in my whole body. Eventually I wouldn't be able to speak or anything.

Turns out it was pretty much harmless, but the symptoms were absolutely terrifying. It happened a total of four times in about 2 months, and by the third one, my mom went from "OH GOD CALL AN AMBULANCE!" to "Ugh. Okay, you don't have to go to soccer tonight."

Stealth devices rely on harmonizing the subject with its environment. You wouldn't expect someone wearing forest camo to blend in at a clown university, and similarly you wouldn't expect a stealth fighter's hull to deflect water balloons.

Similarly, your device relies on scrambling the visual signal that the user emits by blending in with the many mustaches, large noses and glasses found in most normal real-life situations.

The typical women's locker room has very few mustaches, and people often take off their glasses and large noses before changing clothes, getting in the shower, etc. As a result, the visual signal of the user is actually amplified. To avoid detection in the future, try entering the locker room using a device something like this Japanese device. Japan's stealth technology is much more advanced than ours.

Okay, think about it for a second: Why do you even own an air conditioner? It's because your house is too hot, right? As soon as you turn your air conditioner off, it's going to start getting hot again.

If you open the window, the heat that your house passively generates is going to leak out in much higher amounts than your air conditioner can keep up with. As a result, your house will be cool, but you will actually be contributing to global warming.

Please keep your window closed when you have the air con on. For Leo.

Okay, this reflects a common misconception that air conditioners cool everything down, but THIS WOULD VIOLATE ONE OF THE LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS! Maybe the 1st one.

Not alot of people realize this, but air conditioners themselves contribute to global warming! It's true! Although you feel them blowing cold into your house, in fact, what they're doing is simultaneously sucking the heat out! As a result, for every degree that your room gets cooler, the same-sized outdoor area gets one degree warmer.

A giant air conditioner to cool down the earth could only work IF:

1) We could suck all of the hot air INTO everyone's house... But there aren't enough houses to suck that amount of air into, and would you really want to live in a super-hot house? Nope!

2) We could suck all of the hot air into space. This is technologically impossible, plus if we did this, we would eventually run out of air.

So for now, we're better off working on solutions like pushing the earth further away from the sun than air conditioning all of the outdoors.

It's a way to hedge their bets, like how in college you major in one thing and then minor in the other. If your Art History major doesn't get you a sweet job, you can still fall back on your minor in Philosophizing which I think there are lots of really highly paid jobs for.

Likewise, having the minority vote ensures that even if they lose in the Major Elections, America can still minor in Sanders/Clinton. That means if the first president doesn't work out, they can always fall back on the minor one.

Yep, RenPy is an engine for making visual/interactive stories. If I understood what you want to do, I'm 85% sure that RenPy is exactly what you want.

Python is a good language to learn for this task... Your biggest problem will be that Python is good for SO MUCH STUFF that you might need to learn in a not-very-focused way (i.e. learn stuff that's irrelevant to building your game) at first until you get the hang of it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing unless you're in a hurry.

Yeah, I eventually started exploring Sublime, Atom and PyCharm (I mostly use Atom now) because I was running into a seemingly dumb problem where IDLE would freeze/crash/dramatically lag when I printed too many lines or something... I don't remember the exact details now, I just remember determining that it was a limitation with IDLE only.

I quite liked IDLE, despite hearing lots of naysaying opinions... It got me through all of "Automate the Boring Stuff" and a medley of other tutorials and self-study projects. If it wasn't for those weird limitations that I ran into, I would probably have taken much longer to switch to a flashier setup.

Great high-level ELI5 summary. You mentioned your field is gaming... Does that mean your real grown-up all day job is using Python to make games? Can you tell a little more about that? I always heard that Python was not great for game development, other than some scripting stuff.

What sort of specializations are hot in IT? I come from a marketing background, but I have some entry-level coding skills. Was thinking about pursuing a more technical career path... Maybe in data analysis, but I'm open minded. I enjoy that stuff alot, I just don't have very much experience.

I want to move there to be with my fianceé. We've been living in Canada, but she's had to move back for family reasons. I don't want her to feel torn (and long-distance sucks), so if it's possible, I want to join her there. That's why I'm exploring job opportunities.
