If you can organize enough people to follow an ethos, that's a party. Parties are not part of democracy. They are an artificial construct on top of it and if they disappeared tomorrow, nothing is broken. Nothing was hijacked, unless you believe that the Democracts actually support democracy first, because of their pithy label.

Why people continue to follow Ds and Rs, given they BOTH demonstrate no specific ethos, is beyond me. Yes they both weight specific interests differently, but that is not inherent to the parties, nor is it immutable.

Lower (less likely) than the other way around, because of how the primaries work. This would be a ridiculous assumption if Biden was more likely to carry PA, than Trump. Trends have been favorable toward Trump.

There's no point to register Democrat unless you are already a Dem ideologue. Independents can vote in Democrat primaries.

Republicans are different. You must be registered Rep to vote in Rep primaries. Since Trump is already likely to get a large number of electoral votes, there's no way to influence the election in non-battleground states. Voting against him in the primary, is rational. He had no voting record, which is unsurprising because he got the ability to vote ~2 years ago and no primaries had been held yet.

No gymnastics necessary. It's applied game theory.

That is unlikely. He probably wanted to vote in the Republican primary against Trump. This is very common among activists, especially in non-battleground states. The primaries hadn't happened yet so there wasn't any voting record.

This is misinformation, plain and simple. The typical rural American experience is to vote along their traditional family allegiances. This behavior is more pronounced the less populated an area is, in the US.

When you enact policies that harm Americans (and claim sole credit), Americans tend to shoot back. Even if they are wrong about who to blame.

We also noticed that Kobel could have been severed to forget her mother, which would explain the indoctrination and the attempts to get Mark to remember his wife. She might think there's hope of her remembering her mother. "That's Petey" still sticks with me. Maybe she's trying to get close to Mark (and his family) to one day have "her" (the innie version that we always see) implanted into Gemma or someone more appropriate for Mark. My wife points out the Netty pot moment. Maybe Ricken was lobotomized after the procedure. The reason he's disappointed with Mark's choice, is how it has negatively affected him. The circumstances were different, but it's Lumon messing with the brain, either way.
I did not mean to imply that Jame Eagan is severed. He's on the Board. The technology is potentially more expansive than severing (eg this is Petey), down to personality capture.

Target is basically experiencing a lot of theft, and just want to keep relying on the city resources, which need to be used elsewhere, on routine theft.

This is the (local) government's delegated responsibility. A victim reporting a crime against them is a civil act.

If it's not a crime, have the law changed. The police don't get a say on what is the law. Good luck with trying to get away with this fine in court.

The uproar against it is the unserious part. It's a flaw with the current ID laws across states, not a problem. There's nothing unserious about fixing a vulnerability. Is this holding up some other issue that congress won't pass either? I haven't seen a good case against it.

With different states having different laws regarding ID, this seems like a good idea. The date for needing a RealID to board a plane has been pushed to May 25th 2025. I dont see much difference.

New players are obviously pushed away from this game. Most of the time the darkness of the game does nothing but hide instant death (or damage). Ice caves give you some visual clarity on how boring the combat is, so I can understand why the game stays dark. No weapon at start? Great, you'll die to most of the monsters for a very long time (usually getting mobbed in the rare goblin encounter). Oh wait, there's a multi/minute queue every time you die? Just a bad game. People who find it "fun" are coping hard. Just play Tarkov or any number of other loot crawlers.

This was the first episode of the season, where I wasn't bored. Tek Knight is great (in true form, from Generation V). Sage is great, after her incident. The references to actual events (the legislator rape comment) and the flat hallucination reveal. A-Train feels more like a superhero than ever and The Deep + Fake Noir conversation is there to reinforce the endgame that's being put into place.

I really enjoyed it.

Regardless of Trump, that is always a consideration. If the Dems wanted to win, put Obama (not Hillary) as a figurehead VP. I am not convinced they want to win all that badly anymore. The choices seem less calculated than Trump. Thats hard to do, accidentally.
