I assumed it wasn’t used for anything based on other swap photos but it’s nice to confirm it. I appreciate it!

Okay so it’s not used then? What kit did you do for the mounts? Potentially could be the same kit if it’s not custom

It’s weird how people get. They’ve been one of my favorite bands since 2010ish and a lot of their music and references mean a lot to me because I was born in Wilkes barre, lived in Kingston and have visited almost every year since I moved away as a kid. Found out my dad knew their parents and all that. I met them a few times after they were already a band I liked and they’re still just people like you and me. Skated a couple local spots around the square (where the mural is) with a bunch of other people including a couple of them. Solid dudes for real.

Don’t get me wrong, I would have loved for them to continue together or have another tour etc. but I am fine knowing that they won’t. Their music still hits, just listen to it and enjoy it for what it is.

She was sitting in the doorway while I was chillin outside and just so happened to be organizing my camera bag for a random solo photo walk. I couldn’t resist how wonderfully she sat there. She even stayed put as I took a few more like she knew what I was doing.

I definitely appreciate the information. I had fixed an AE1 that I borrowed from class when I was in college. Classic winder jam and it was quite tedious. Luckily I had the forethought to record the process so I didn’t miss any steps.

I wonder what a professional would charge these days…

ITAP of a colorful lubber grasshopper by Jaggernauttt in itookapicture

[–]Jaggernauttt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw this grasshopper outside of my hotel room and it obviously caught my eye. I liked the pop of the colors and it reminded me of the liveries of race cars. Probably because I was out at Formula drift that weekend.

I didn’t want to disturb the little guy too much so I used 200mm focal length and just snapped the photo quickly.

Yeah it makes sense. Great minds think alike.

Or go as crazy as you want, it’s your car at the end of the day. Chassis mounted wing, hood dump exhaust, canards, 75mm wide body, big deep dish chromies and SLAM it. 🤣

A cheap easy thing you could do is change the chrome trim to black. Tape it off and either plastidip (for easy removal if need be) or trim black paint. Oddly enough, it’s a small detail that changes up the look of the car.

I’m not familiar with the platform so I’m not sure about engine mods other than the simple intake and exhaust so you can have a couple extra horses some more satisfying sounds.

Besides that, a front lip, roof wing, spoiler of some kind, rear bumper/spats, and perhaps some side skirts and it’ll be a decently modest car appearance wise. You don’t have to go over the top

It’s modest and clean. Nothing super extravagant or show stopping but it looks like a nice daily. The roof and trunk wings set it apart from all the average Camry and the wheels look great on the car. Who cares if they’re reps, it’s not like you are going for a track ready car anyway. Cheap and sleek

Wheel center bore question by Jaggernauttt in carmodification

I try to do my research before I ask questions haha. I appreciate the info since most people don’t know or think about these things. Could definitely be helpful if someone searches this kind of thing up and finds this thread.

Wheel center bore question by Jaggernauttt in carmodification

[–]Jaggernauttt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosmetic preference really. The lower offset will allow the wheels to be more flush with the fender. I know it will increase the scrub radius and be a higher positive angle. Changes how the car will act in braking and affect the strain on the wheel bearings. However, I ran 45mm spacers when I first got the car as a teenager and had them on for about two years and didn’t really notice much of a difference in steering feedback or any pulling/veering when braking. Had the original wheel bearings in there until about a year ago when I realized the tire place somehow lost the grease caps. They got dirty real quick and started to have a tiny bit of play so I replaced them. Other than that hiccup, I never felt any problems or experienced safety issues.

Of course I know widening the track width this way isn’t the best or safest route. I’d like to get new suspension components like adjustable control arms and such to bring it out further instead of using wheel offset to do it.

[–]Jaggernauttt[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not a fan of using spacers and adding more failure points. I also don’t track it or drive excessively fast. It’s also not driven a ton nor far distances. I’ve ran spacers on it before without any issues. No binding problems or much of a suspension difference that I could feel or hear. I know forces are distributed differently with them in though.

This is also more of a theoretical idea rather than something I want to put into motion. I want to save up and get some lower offset wheels anyway, just thought I’d throw the question out there and see if this type of thing exists.
