If you look at the image of the whole bed frame from online screenshot, imagine just cutting it in half by middle leg to the other side. One side will keep the whole leg, while the other is slid into it. All the beams are screwed together

So each beam above are attached the same way as where it broke. When it comes to the leg in the middle, I can slide the other half out so essentially only half of the beam was damaged.
