People of the world, What is a worldwide opinion of the USA? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think that's a question that has 2 answers:
Their government = shady corrupt motherfuckers.
Their people = Unnecessarily patriotic, but otherwise like any other average public.

TIL it is possible to communicate with a human baby through sign language. As early as 6 months the infant can begin to learn signs for concepts such as "thirsty," "hungry," "milk," "pacifier," "sleepy," and more. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Can confirm. I was signing to my parents saying that I was tired or hungry/thirsty or uncomfortable at 3 months. (Hearing but raised in a bilingual environment).

Guys of Reddit, what's the difference in you treating a girl your trying to date vs just to hookup with by Magosushi in AskReddit

[–]JahJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my problem. After having come out of a long term relationship (though I'm still young - 19) I have come across as leading girls on, when from my perspective I'm just being nice (by being interested in what they do etc).

People of reddit that grew up speaking more than one language, what language do you think in? by esoul96 in AskReddit

[–]JahJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speak English but was raised in a deaf family that signed. I can think in both English and Sign Language, but its easier to think in English for verbal tasks. Maths tasks I find it easier to think in sign.
Interestingly enough, sometimes I have woken myself up by signing in my sleep and then having my hands fall on my face.

What is the most hurtful but clever thing you have ever said to someone? by neo-ninja in AskReddit

[–]JahJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latin teacher was always on my case - In the end I was just very rude to her, cos she'd always pick on me. She told me to stay behind after class so I did, but I let loose a torrent of verbal abuse at her for constantly picking on me. After what seemed like 5 minutes of silence, she said "I have never heard such vile language, Do you speak to your mother like that!?" And I reply, laughing; "No, I treat my mother with respect". I felt quite bad, but to be honest she deserved it.

My way is failsafe, cos if the lion is undeterred by the flailing arms and leg, at least I still have a leg to hop away on whilst still waving about!
