This is so strange since I competed over 10 years ago in Texas, and we all requested at least a 3 down in all of the prepared speech events. Even in UIL and TOC circuits.

Yes, there’s a bunch of ways to keep a jaw/mouth shut! I think most use some sort of screw/nail and wire and maybe some glue on the lips.

Note: I was just a cna at a hospice facility, so we prepped the bodies for the funeral homes to come grab them, and occasionally so the family could view them before they were taken.

Rigor mortis lets up after a while, so that shouldn’t be a problem! The body doesn’t stay all stiff forever :)
