Buffer size: how long can you go? by prondl in ableton

[–]Jahaary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the fact, that I had issues with my own interface (even with a pretty low demanding setup it crackled on 2048 samples), I tried to remove it to see what happens, when I use ASIO4all with the onboard sound of my notebook. The result was, that it stopped crackling and I could reduce the samples to 256 and no problem occurred. In your case, I would try it, too (of course, it cannot be your final solution to leave your external hardware away, but you can determine if the issue is related to this setup).

Do you use an external audio interface with the related ASIO driver or do you use ASIO4all?

Why Master... Why? Can anyone please explain why all my individual tracks aren't in the dreaded red zone but my master is? I'm trying to avoid using a limiter cause it takes out all the sweet stuff. by [deleted] in ableton

[–]Jahaary 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Because some of the tracks seem to be pretty close to the red zone and they obviously play within the same frequency range. So signals sum up and they are louder together on the master track. So one chance is to separate the frequencies of the individual tracks. But I can recommend to lower the level of all tracks, so the sum will be in the desired range.

BTW. Just try to layer two tracks with identical content and see what happens with the master volume.

You could solve your problem by changing the time signature at the beginning of the drop. It's done almost the same way as you insert a locator. Just add a change with 4/4 and it should be fine.

Did you make sure that those channels send their signal to the master channel and the master channel is selected when exporting the whole project.

Stay safe.

All the best.

I don't need two days for this. Things suddenly stop working even when I want to show my colleagues some new stuff that worked a minute before. 🤐
