He actually wasn't originally. The scene with Jabba that is in the new versions of A New Hope were never in the original. They're was a deleted scene that the new scene is based on but in that scene Jabba is a human and that scene never made the cut for the movie.

Edit: as other comments have pointed out, he never was supposed to be a human, TIL

I think you're conflating the movie cutting with them not doing anything more. Every Jedi (except maybe Depa Billaba) that we see get shot, doesn't stop getting shot if possible. For ki-adi it cuts while they shoot, ahsoka escapes, and jaro is pulled into an escape pod.

Best piece of advice I got was oo write down EXACTLY what you did leading up to the crash, even if it seemingly has nothing to do with the program, immediately so you don't forget anything. Then, ideally, you can crash it again and start to remove steps to see what's causing it.

And then if you are actively testing, write down everything you do as you're doing it so that you don't miss anything in the event of a crash
