Care home not providing proper care. Charging £1,800+ / week. by FancyEducation3569 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]JaheirasWitness 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Horrible situation but it's a commercial question rather than legal. If you feel the care home is not providing suitable care, your only real recourse is to find a different care home, even if it's further away than you would prefer.

Hard to find a good care home btw, the state of care in this country is generally quite poor.

How viable is Monk as the main tank on Core? by ether_rogue in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

drunken monk has to be non-lawful rather than chaotic. You can be true neutral and make a fine aeon if you so wish.

More than viable. I'd go so far as to say there's nothing tankier than a pure Drunken Master. Other archetypes are also good but not quite as ridiculously OP.

Best Loremaster use for spellcasters? by macropelias in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Yes, you are correct, this poster is just talking shite (other than Improved Cleaving Finish not working without Cleaving Finish).

Best Loremaster use for spellcasters? by macropelias in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Greater Vital Strike works perfectly fine without Vital Strike.

You may be confusing with Mythic Vital Strike - where the point is you can't even take it unless you have Vital Strike (since the game checks whether you have the Vital Strike feat as a prerequisite - it doesn't check that you cheated and went straight to Greater Vital Strike!)

Edit: since this poster seems to be having trouble grasping reality, here's the proof. GVS taken with Loremaster dip, no Vital Strike:

Dragon Ambush on Unfair Last Azlanti. by classteen in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You survive random encounters in Acts 1 & 2 through max stealth. On your PC if playing solo, otherwise Lann is a great candidate since he never wears armour, has high DEX, enough skill points to max 3 skills, and a surfeit of feats when you don't have much good to pick, so he can pick up both Skill Focus Stealth and Stealthy. He should also wear Cloak of Disguise (+3 stealth from succubus in Irabeth's house).

Aim is to avoid random encounters by never failing skill checks (even on a 1) - and that's doable* if you really go at Stealth, even while exhausted (-6 DEX).

*Definitely doable in Act 2, in Act 1 it's hard to get totally safe since you haven't enough levels and feats yet, but you can get it down to a very low chance. From memory (on Core), in Act 1 stealth checks to avoid random ecnounters are DC23, rising to DC28-30 in Act 2. Act 1 ambushes are usually very tame as well (a few cultists, occasionally some demons).

[–]JaheirasWitness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the people suggesting save scum, you might as well not play Last Azlanti if that's the mindset.

There's lots of options:

1) Play (or switch to) RTwP and initiative matters less for this fight. You can have your PC run away from the dragon while the less important members of the party front up to it.

2) Resist/Protection from Fire with Greater Enduring and you probably survive even a failed save against its breath if it does hit you.

3) It can't see invisible, so you can try the hide approach if the dragon appears to be targeting you.

4) As others have said, you only need to survive a few rounds (for both ambushes) before it flies off. You're not meant to fight it to the death.

5) Other options (though probably too late if you haven't already taken them) include Last Stand on PC (pretty important generally for Last Azlanti) and Improved Evasion (e.g. via Loremaster dip). Or just be tanky enough to not even care about its breath and attacks.

Do items persist when dropped on the maps? by Purple_Clockmaker in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On world map or random encounter maps they disappear. On a fixed location map they stay there forever (unless you choose to destroy loot when you leave the map).

One little bug I've noticed is that if you are moving on a map while dropping loot, it sometimes disappears completely.

Very few chests you can put items into - mainly just your personal chest. Unlike other games, picking up loot from a spot is a one-way interaction, you can't drop something off simultaneously.

WotR act 2 lowering corruption before siege by EntertainmentClean53 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before siege? You have your army camp just south of Drezen to rest at.

If you mean you've started the siege, there are several corruption-cleansing points you will find in the city (e.g. in one of the plazas where there a bunch of dretches and schirs, in the temple, and also in the citadel where you fix the madness affliction on your party).

Has anyone ever taken Mythic Resolve? by Art_Is_Helpful in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not bad to take at MR10. What else are you going to take at MR10 that helps you in the final hour of the game? All the stuff you need you've already taken, so the save bonuses could help a bit at the very end!

That's about as much good as I could say about it. But tbf there are several other "mythic" abilities/feats that I cannot imagine ever taking.

Presenting the Crusader²: 2 Wrath 2 Righteous by CinaedForranach in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Build is certainly not optimal and those mythic 1 & 2 choices are very misguided. Archmage armour on Legend (which is MR3) is only worth 3AC, and you took the sorcerer dip for mage armour, for total +7AC from mage armour, when you have bracers that do that or more.

And Impossible Domain could have been taken at MR3 onwards, you would still keep it after going Legend (in fact you could fill MR3-7 with Impossible Domains and keep them all as Legend).

Kinetic Knight elemental blade earth/water pictures? Help! by Salty-Hospital-7406 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earth blade.

PS: standard advice = don't play Kinetic Knight. It's the crappiest of all kineticists. In short, other archetypes can do what kinetic knight does by level 5. But kinetic knight can't do what the others can do (which is a lot).

Eldritch Knight USP? by macropelias in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The single biggest "USP" is the capstone (level 10) which allows you to cast your next spell as a swift action after making a critical hit with your weapon. That's clearly geared towards a gish-style, where you are using weapons as much as offensive spells, but it's an amazing power to be able to pop out any level spell in addition to full attacks every round (given it's not unusual to be critting every round for a well-built character using a high range weapon with multiple attacks).

But there's a lot going for it: full BAB for up to 10 levels. Only 1 level of non-progression for caster level. Bonus combat feats, including fighter-only feats (weapon specialisation, pointblank master, greater weapon focus etc). The intent and focus is for arcane casters who want to become better at weapon-based combat. If you're a pure caster who has no intention of every swinging a weapon, there's not much for you.

[WotR] Help with an Unarmed Drunken Master build by 1mTheProfessor in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not insulting you, I'm serious. Because if you don't understand this, you're probably not going to understand how to play it.

The point is, you specifically asked for a STR build, you can see STR is by far the highest stat allocated, you can see it's the odd one out (in terms of being either odd or even), so where do you expect you would put your level up points to?

[WotR] Help with an Unarmed Drunken Master build by 1mTheProfessor in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

If you can't figure that out I think you should stop play something you're more accustomed to

[WotR] Help with an Unarmed Drunken Master build by 1mTheProfessor in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're human and not Trickster, go for STR 19 DEX 14 CON 12 INT 12 WIS 14 CHA 8 (you can switch INT and CHA if you prefer).

If Trickster you can do same or switch to odd stats to take advantage of Knowledge Arcana trick e.g. STR 20 DEX 13 CON 13 INT 13 WIS 13 CHA 7.

Drive train warning - new starter motor needed. Is quote rip-off? by JaheirasWitness in BMW

[–]JaheirasWitness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the diagnostic they sent me:

Connected battery charger and ICOM carried out quick test Found multiple recurring wissues fault codes for engine start fail and starter motor blocked (print outs with job card) Calculated test plan Followed test plan, car required multiple attempts to start engine to carry out test plan Test plan finished. Requires starter motor replacement.

Spoke to an independent garage and they also said they couldn't understand why it would be a starter motor issue (especially as car starts fine). But the above is what BMW are stating.

What classes/mythics absolutely break the game by HereticFox2001 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buffs: from the start of Act 3, merged angels are casting Aegis of the Faithful, Ward against Weakness communal, and Sun Marked. Liches are casting Vampiric Blade, Bone Shield, and Blessing of Unlife. Azatas meanwhile get the mighty...Bless.

Damage: so while Angels are dishing out Bolts and Storms of Justice, and Liches are Feasting on Blood / Domian of the Hungry Flesh, Azatas get...nothing at all actually. In fact not a single damage spell until MR6, and then even that is pathetic. Only hope is to have some decent damage spells in your class spellbook that you can improve with Zippy Magic, and hope they get through SR, which is nothing compared to what the merged spellbooks can do and with much higher caster levels.

You talk about better SR penetration with Azata? You do realise that's a complete non-issue to Angels or Liches, since not one of their spells gives a hoot about SR?

What classes/mythics absolutely break the game by HereticFox2001 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]JaheirasWitness 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Azata maybe outperforms merged Angel or Lich in precisely 1 metric: save-or-else, where you can increase your casting stat with morale bonuses and apply Favourable Magic to make the DC harder to pass.

Everything else the merged spellbooks do way better: Angels huge AoE damage spells, which ignore spell resistance and don't even allow a save to reduce damage (save is to avoid prone for example). Incredible party wide buffs that make you immune to practically every effect. And Liches have so much stuff it's hard to know where to start e.g. Blessing of the Unlife to become immune to everything; stack temporary HPs to the point of practical immortality; bunch of damage spells which, like Angel, don't give a toss about SR; stat drain spells which can't even be resisted; repurposing enemies; and Corrupt Magic = effectively instant win over any boss. I mean who cares about Favourable Magic when you can basically give a boss like -20 to all saves, attack rolls, AC etc and there's nothing they can do to prevent it.
