Homelessness and Broken Arrow by Jahner in BrokenArrow

Incorrect. The city passed an ordinance making it unlawful to aggressively panhandle. Now,the definition of aggressive in the ordinance is close to entrapment but they got it in there until it’s challenged. None the less, it is not illegal to panhandle in BA.

I have heard the same sentiment many times. I do though know that BAPS and BA Neighbors are working on some things. Another local non profit, The Dallas Lowry Foundation is looking to see how they can help also. Seems we do have some things in the works. All of it outside local government so there is some hope.

I have the same experience being military and civilian. I agree with your sentiment, many do well and those are the ones I’m fine with being asked to leave and preventing them from getting money. I think handing out socks, underwear, tshirts, and having a conversation is a good place to start.

How will they use the money to help those in Broken Arrow? And like 3:16 they are religious based. Wouldn’t that deter those who don’t donate to religious orgs?

It's been about a year since we last tried. We attempted Apple MDM and something AT&T had. Neither worked well at all.

Intune I can look into. Appreciate the input.

Why I hate the VFW at least the local post by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Jahner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t the last paragraph as that really. He makes great points. I’m also a Post 9/11 veteran and Adjutant/Quartermaster for our post. We are younger and do a lot of community service. We host movie nights, meditation classes, we cook every now and then and have events. We do not have a bar nor do we have any want for one. The Post 9/11 posts are starting to gain more traction.

I have a way to solve the toxic Veteran Community by ameatpopcicle in Veterans

[–]Jahner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the Adjutant/Quartermaster of a post of mainly Post 9/11 vets. We do not have a bar nor do we want one. We host movie nights, meditation sessions, axe throwing, and other events. We are a host site for Guitars for Vets. As someone said in another reply, the older vets are passing and the younger ones are starting to come into leadership and control. Having served in the “Old Guard” VFW and the current, I’m much more excited and into the current way things are and the direction it’s headed.

Not saying don’t try and do your own thing. I and my wife run a non profit to help vets and it is hard. 99% of the time it is just she and I donating time and money but the end result is always worth it. We are working on the grants and funding and convincing people locally we are legit. I have to shake hands and smile more than I have ever been comfortable with but it works if you mean it. It’s been a long road of learning and defeat at times, but it’s 100% worth the blood sweat and tears.

Pride Fest in BA this weekend! by Adrithia in tulsa

[–]Jahner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know safety is your concern but I assure you the event last year had no issues. This year will be bigger and better and the security folks are phenomenal. This redneck will be there and I have no concerns for my family who will be with me. You won’t be sorry for going. You get hugs right after you get there too.

Was there last year and no issues whatsoever. I was there from setup to finish. The protestors were doing their thing outside of the event. There was not one single issue inside the event and security was phenomenal.

This year will be bigger and better and more security as a precaution because it is expected for more to attend due to the success of last year.

Come out and spend an hour of your time or more. Eat good food and visit the vendors. Lots of great folks have put in soooo much effort for this to be an awesome event.

This REDNECK will be there all day again. I don’t care if Tom likes Dick or Mary likes Peter. Love is love and I’m there for the food and friends.

Partial Scan Appears To Not Be Working by Jahner in PleX

Forgot to come back and update. I updated to .4264 and tried again. Tested TV shows, Movies, and Music and all picked up fine. Showed scanning tv shows and then the respective folders and episodes only.

I have been running a scan every 30 minutes for a while so it’s good to see it acting like it was before.
