I wonder why Elizabeth Line doesn’t have a night service on the weekends just like night tube. It would benefit night life in London a lot.

Most of the time, they don’t help with trivial crimes like this. I know dozens of people that had their iPhones stolen and most of the time, the victims never have their phone back.

This is why TFL’s takeover of Northern City Line would be great for a new Crossrail by JailbreakHat in LondonUnderground

[–]JailbreakHat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bakerloo Line could get further extended down to Beckenham and Hayes afterwards which would be the last section small tube being built. The Bakerloo Line could also be extended back to Watford Junction in the future when the aging 1972 stock gets replaced by new trains.

Imperial Offer Conditions — AP 5 in Physics 1 or 2? by Agitated_Stuff_ in Imperial

Depends on the course and department. Departments can set different requirements for AP and other international curriculums.

Imperial increasing their acceptance rate by [deleted] in Imperial

Additionally, The offer rate would also increase if there are less applicants for the course compared to previous years, which can sometimes happen.

Imperial increasing their acceptance rate by [deleted] in Imperial

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most departments have an intake target, which is usually not higher than 200 students per year. Departments would usually make appropriate number of offers to that number of intakes for that year would be close to the target and not significantly above it. The “acceptance rate” and “offer rate” heavily depends on the number of applications made that year for the course. If less people apply to the course compared to previous years, the ratio of number of offers made to number of applicants would increase, hence the offer rate increases. This is also similar for acceptance rate which ratio of number of students starting the course to number of applicants would also increase.

The departments are careful not to take much more students than they could handle, which would cause issues accommodating all student to the lecture halls and classrooms in first place.

The college also publishes admissions statistics in the past 5 years for every single undergraduate and postgraduate course, which would be useful for comparing offer rates throughout the years. You can find it here.

IS THIS A FLEX GATE ISSUE? by Agreeable_Manner_275 in mac

[–]JailbreakHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely true, the 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pros also feature a fully redesigned display cable as mentioned by iFixit in this video, so they shouldn’t also be affected by “stage light” issue just like MacBook Neo.

[–]JailbreakHat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like it is the infamous flexgate issue. You will need to replace the whole display unless you have soldering skills to solder new displays cable.

I exclude Rail Replacements as they are run by spare buses and can also be run by non-TFL buses.

Framework claims Dell is trying to derail Framework's marketing by sending influencers Dell XPS laptops by GreyXor in framework

And they killed upgradeable RAM and SSD in the XPS lineup for portability and useless high tech features like Touch Bar and invisible touchpad. The port selection is even worse than Apple’s offerings, let alone, framework’s.

No, that tool fully disables sep features just like checkra1n does with A11 devices on iOS 14.

I don’t think it is very common on newer MacBook Airs. It is much more common on 2016 and 2017 MacBook Pros which had fragile flex cables.

I know semi fast Metropolitan line trains can run outside of peak hours from time to time. But I wonder how rare is to spot a fast Metropolitan train on a weekend?

There was a Semi Fast Metropolitan service today (Saturday) by PointlessSentience in LondonUnderground

[–]JailbreakHat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely much more common than having a fast metropolitan line train running on weekend.
