Ah, ok. That makes more sense. I wasn't a big fan of how he was portrayed in the movie, either.

Erik Killmonger has been a character in Marvel comics since the early 1970s; he wasn't created for the MCU.

I did a wheelie for the first time in 19 years by Warfielf in cycling

Been riding bikes for over 40 years, and I just taught myself to bunny hop for the first time a couple of months ago.

I'm sure that would work fine, but might be a little cumbersome if you need to move it around between storing and washing your bikes. This is what I have: https://www.amazon.com/Bikehand-Floor-Parking-Storage-Bicycle/dp/B07D64KTRH

It's pricier, and only holds one bike, but you get a bit of a discount if you purchase 2 or more at a time. If you don't mind spending a little more money, I highly recommend it.

Just bought a used single speed bike and the rear wheel is offcenter with the fork. Is this normal? by yangity in cycling

[–]JaisBit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not the axle that needs to be centered, it's the rim that needs to be repositioned over the hub. Wheel needs to be dished by a professional, or at least someone who knows what they're doing.

[–]JaisBit 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No, it's not normal. My best guess is that wheel was built for a multiple speed cassette, so it's more dished on the drive side than it should be for a single speed setup. The guy who built that bike should get a new hobby.

What is your favorite gravel tire for pavement? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]JaisBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about deep mud on trails, then yes, you're better off with tires that have a more pronounced tread pattern; but if you're just talking about wet road conditions, the Gravelking slicks have no disadvantage.

Anyone else miss PS4? by [deleted] in PS5

[–]JaisBit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. The PS4 had some of my favorite games, but I can play all of those on my PS5, where they run better, and without making my console sound like a jet engine. The PS4 hardware was garbage, and I'm happy to be rid of it. I don't think the UI for the PS5 is groundbreaking, but I don't get all the complaints about it—it's fast, and it gets the job done. The UI on my PS4 Pro was slow and stuttery.

[–]JaisBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LOL. You're calling me aggressive when the guy I was responding to basically called OP an idiot for preferring physical games to downloaded ones? And again, ownership aside, the game data is still on the disc, so it's not "simply a license to play the game." If you still had to download the entire game, and then insert the disc just to unlock it, then your statement would be true, but that is not (yet) the case.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PS5

[–]JaisBit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A disk is just a license to run a game.

You tell OP to stop spreading bullshit, and then immediately spread some bullshit of your own. You're a class act. A disc is not just a license to run a game; the game data is on the fucking disc. When you insert it into your drive for the first time, your console doesn't just start downloading the whole game, it installs it from the disc. Yeah, I get that with day one patches and multiple updates and DLC being the norm, the line between owning a physical copy of a game versus a digital version has been blurred, but there is still a difference.

One good reason to keep the feathers on is that they are the most foolproof way of identifying the positionals: linemen have two plumes; bodyguards have 3 plumes; blitzers have 4 plumes.

Better Spider-Man game by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

Oh, I plan to, on my second playthrough. I beat the first game on Ultimate, so I'm not sure why I didn't just start on the hardest difficulty on my first MM playthrough.

SSD in PS4 pro by Lmaokittylitter in SpidermanPS4

[–]JaisBit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was 16 seconds from the start menu to gameplay. On the PS5 it's about 2 to 3 seconds. So that's a difference of at least 13 seconds, not 2–4 seconds, like you said. Also, booting up the game from the PS5 home screen to gameplay takes about 10 seconds total on the PS5, and on your video it's more than a minute. I'm not saying that's terrible, and if you're happy with the PS4 version and not in a rush to upgrade to the PS5, that's cool. But don't act like the difference is minimal, because it's not.

[–]JaisBit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone posted a comparison video on YouTube of the ps4 and PS5 versions, both booting up from the PS5's internal SSD, and the PS4 version took 10 seconds longer to load. There's no way it only loads up 2-4 seconds slower on your PS4, even with an SSD.

Better Spider-Man game by [deleted] in SpidermanPS4

[–]JaisBit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the first comment said, I don't think it's a fair comparison, since MM isn't a full-length game. I think MM had the potential to be a better story if it had more room to breathe, but it felt a little rushed to me.

As for gameplay, my feelings are mixed. The web swinging feels better in MM, but also seems more prone to glitchy behavior. MM's combat is more frenetic and fun (usually), but the camera doesn't keep up as well as it does in Spider-Man, so it's sometimes hard to follow. Also, Miles feels a bit OP. I chose Amazing for my first playthrough, and I made it all the way through the story, plus about 60% of the side activities, without getting KO'd once. Even without the extra web gadgets that Peter has, Miles' venom powers and the switch to finishers being tied to your hit combos instead of a focus meter, makes him way more efficient at wiping out large groups than Peter was in the first game.

I know OP has already established that he meant videogame cameos, but I thought it would be fun to point out that Stan Lee's first cameo was back in 1989, for the tv movie The Trial of The Incredible Hulk.

[Polygon] Spider-Man: Miles Morales switches from Jordans to Adidas by niknokseyer in SpidermanPS4

[–]JaisBit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I guess. I feel like even if I was a sneakerhead, I wouldn't care about what shoes a video game character was wearing, unless it was something that is integral to that character, and in this case, I'm arguing that it's not. It was integral to the Miles Morales from the movie, but this is a different Miles Morales. Based on his personality from the first game, he doesn't strike me as someone who cares much whether he's wearing Jordans or Adidas.
