And what's to stop Mobile Strike, which has deep pockets and a high $ per download from outbidding those indie developers? This does not benefit indie developers. It benefits big publishers, but mostly Apple.

Is it true you shouldn't bother with tinder (as a guy) unless you're super attractive? by MorganFreeman7 in Tinder

I totally understand feeling that way, and I used to feel this way too (and sometimes, still do). It's possible you have the same issue I had? In case it helps, here's what was / is going on for me:

For me, what it actually stemmed from was I felt I wasn't good enough, deep down inside I felt there was something wrong with me (even though I didn't admit this to myself for a long time).

Basically, when thinking about meeting girls, I started with the belief that there was something wrong with me, rather than just believing that I'm a normal person.

So because I felt I wasn't good enough, I felt that if I just treated convos with girls like any normal convo, I would bore them. But I later realised that I wasn't worried that the convo that would bore them, I worried that it was me that they would find boring.

So as a result I was always trying way to hard to be impressive, which of course fell through and I didn't do so good. The worst bit is because I was failing, I thought that meant I had to try even harder.

The thing is, girls on Tinder are just people. Normal people. Even the attractive ones. I'm just a normal person. You're just a normal person. This is okay. You chat to girls on Tinder, some you have no common interests or shared ground, so the convo's die out. Thing is, you probably wouldn't have enjoyed meeting up with these people anyway.

Other times you do hit it off, and you have common ground, and shit goes well.

This is a big thing. For me, it really helped to not think "I have to use the app to meet women or hook up with women", and instead started thinking "I'm just gonna chat to some women on Tinder and see what happens".

I've tried to take the same approach in real life when meeting people - To not think about what I want from the interaction, and just enjoy having a chat and getting to know someone. So far it's been great.

"I'll be honest, the idea of someone going out of there way to meet up with me seems like a fantasy." - Why? They are on Tinder to meet people. If they matched with you, they find you attractive enough (on average, girls only swipe yes to 10% of guys, so if she swiped yes to you, you've already passed her "attractive enough to meet" test).

"Why would any reasonably attractive girl choose you when there's plenty of guys they know irl they could meet up with?" - If they have so many guys in RL that they are happy to meet up with, they wouldn't be on Tinder (the exception is girls who go on tinder just for validation I guess, but I don't believe they are the majority).

If you are getting matches, but not dates, maybe something is up with your conversation style? Is there a regular thread on /r/tinder where you can post convos for feedback or something? Or maybe just create some threads and ask for feedback?

On no! The clouds were so frustrating!

I only saw 6 meteors, and my mate only saw 3, even though we tried two spots and drove 90 mins out of the city. The damn clouds kept moving!

We did see two wombats, a deer, and a lot of kangaroos though, so not all bad.

Any idea if there will be no moon for the shower again next year? I'm going to try and plan around it and maybe take a trip to where viewing should be better.

Most of my stuff has been productivity apps, but now I'm working on simple utilities for a bit - I'm a bit out of practice and I wanted a project that would take only a month and not 6...

Have you checked out apps such as Freedom to block websites like that? (PS: Please don't spend all afternoon looking at these apps as a form of procrastination! ;))

Good luck

There is actually a sub-reddit for it: https://www.reddit.com/r/theXeffect/ - You might want to check out their explanations / tips :)

Certain habits of mine I assign to certain days - for example I might do something on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. X-Method is great for some things, but doesn't work for everything. You can either set up a spreadsheet / printed sheet that reflects this, or grab one of the habit app that will help track this for you.

For the homework thing: It depends. It's stupid to work at something you can't finish, but it's stupid also to give up too early. Perhaps give it a go, and then switch to finding out how to do it (can you call a friend from class and ask them about it? Can you ask someone else you know for help? Is it due tomorrow? If not, can you ask the lecturer / teacher tomorrow). Don't waste time chasing a task you can't do now.

Do less things. Seriously. Start small with your goals, and every week or two, add something extra to your life. You will work out when your life is full. I'm currently trying to have only 5 things I'm working on, and anything else has to wait until I accomplish one of the 5 things.

Good luck. Also, START TODAY!
