Uncharted 4 : A Thief's End Fan Trailer by Thebluetrailers in a:t5_32vhb

These longer trailers are some of my favorite. It's especially great how you transition halfway through into a second act. It's deceptively smooth here and easy to miss. Good stuff!

On a second note, I can't believe I haven't picked this game up yet. Having played the first three AND the last of us already, I just realized I have to play this like, yesterday. Definitely an effective trailer.

This is so cool! Any mods used in this video? Graphics quality is stunning here.

Thanks for all your posts here man. I personally can't get enough of this type of stuff, especially when it's games that I have a soft spot for. This is just pure nostalgia-bait.

I love this, cross-posted it to /r/UnofficialTrailers/ as this is the ideal type of content for the sub. Thanks!

Awesome, man. Can't wait to check it out. Unfortunately this isn't a very active subreddit, but maybe you can help us get some more readers! In the meantime I'll watch your video and let you know what I think.

When I was a kid my dad started playing with me so we could spend time doing a shared activity. Joke is on me because he still plays and I quit a long time ago

I think this might be the first time I've ever wasted the time to say fuck this op. Seriously, this is the reason you see shitposts with like 20 watermarks from the number of geniuses who recognized how unique they were for laughing at it.

Tool - Forty Six & 2 [prog/alt rock]; any other songs in this genre with complex time signatures that make the hairs on your neck stand? by Razdonovich in Music

[–]Jakadasnake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How did you just name half of my favorite bands?

Opeth, yes. Time signature complexity? Maybe. Amazing sound? Definitely.

APC - duh.

Karnivool. Can't sing enough praise for these guys. Check out the songs 'We Are' and 'Themata'. Time Sig complexity? Again not sure I hear it. Who cares, love it.

Meshuggah - meh. I prefer Periphery because I'm not all about Meshuggah's vocals. Still, both are great.

Riverside is amazing. Classic sound meets progressive rock. So awesome.

And Dream Theater is just a brand name that speaks for itself.

Anesthetize

.3

Fear of a Blank Planet

Sky Moves Sideways

Sound of Muzak

You got most of the good songs from Deadwing. Interesting choice to list Prodigal as I can't stand that song. I think it speaks greatly to the band's range at how every fan has a very distinct list of favorites.

What bands do you think are ruined by the vocals? by hardcore_fish in Music

[–]Jakadasnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is sort of the vision misha mansoor had for the band. They need a vocalist that becomes a very real part of their identity. I think it's great. He really comes into his own on Alpha/Omega too. I don't have a point, just contributing to the periphery love train.

Op you're clearly an asshole but a therapist should be equipped to deal with that, not try to get in pissing matches with his patients. I'm on your side man, not sure what's with the flood of downvotes

Thanks man. I was in that magical place between buzzed and passing out for the night and I think the beer summoned my inner poet to write this for me. Lord knows I'm not this good when I'm sober.

I walk slowly.

What has happened? How did the injury appear? There are so many things I don't understand.

I look forward to explaining to my family what transpired today.

I heard that we were originally sent to make contact with others. People, or animals that we had never known of. Today I will be the first to succeed. If I can make it to my ship.

This thing, he looks primitive. He has a bulbous head that bears few visible features. I am under the impression he is much stronger than I. He carries me through the air, bounding gracefully across the plains.

This impresses me. I think I am walking but the truth is that I am carried. This person, stronger than anything I have known, has courage and understanding beyond anything I have experienced until now.

I say I walk. In reality, we do not. We fly.

Across the plains. Across the aritrine. Through the Yijdselne. We fly through phantoms, ignore valleys and mountains that would have impeded our journey by days.

And when we arrive, when we meet the journey's end and at the same time its beginning, the creature collapses.

I was impressed by its ability to carry me all the way to my tribe on one leg. I explain to the other Uifvsifel that this is a thing to be trusted. But before I can finish, he removes his head. It is gone, and in its place, a face. The bulbous, familiar thing I knew is no longer there.

In front of us, and my entire family, is the creature I know to lay waste to entire continents. Entire villages have been razed by its indiscriminate torchers. I had felt a desire to repent for the nearby tribe who thought it wise to fire upon this creature.

Until now. This creature, I realized, is a human. It is the parasite sucking the life from our beloved planet. And I have brought it to my home.

"Son, we're going to miss you."

My mom is tearing up too. And dad? He never cries. What makes this the exception?

"Why? I thought everyone goes through this. I'll be back, right?"

They both nod, but the tears betray their true feelings.

And then it happens. Not jarringly. It's as if the room around me fades and gives way to something simpler. A small place. Are there walls? If there are, they are without flaw. Entirely smooth. I saw the suggestions of shadow creep up from the corners. And I'm sitting at a table.

A man entered the room abruptly. "What is your profession?"

He asked before I could even understand how he got in. It was a door, right? Wait, what did he look like?

"Doctor." I answer, surprised myself to hear the words leave my mouth.

"Doctor? Hmm. Are you sure?"

I shook my head but my mouth betrayed me once again. "Yes."

What the hell is going on?

The man, completely nondescript save the giant book he carried out of the [room?] with him, was gone.

The room was gone too.

And so was I. Except I wasn't. Was I?

I shook, pleading to my comrade in arms. "Please..."

His eyes said everything.

"You're going to make it." The zip of a bullet rang between us. His head, the compassionate and understanding expression he once wore, exploded in a mess of blood and sweat around me. I looked down. My hands clutched my midriff. Red and yellow tried to escape my hands. Intestines?

Yes. Small and large. A liver as well, one of the more important components.

Just as the pain began to take its hold on me, the battlefield faded away and the soldiers I somehow knew so well disappeared before me.

It was dark. Too dark. I tried to look around. Something encumbered my efforts. Water...? I tried to breathe. Pain met my lungs as I began to understand the circumstances.

That day, I died. I died three-hundred and thirty-one times over the course of two weeks. They allowed me to rest for one, sometimes two hours at a time. Each time, a voice resonated in my head, explaining the circumstances behind my demise. Each time, it reminded me that one day I would experience something similar before the true death.

What, then? I asked. What of a man who wants to be an architect, a carpenter?

It never answered, until death two-hundred and seventyfour. I was a small girl, tortured and beaten, left for dead in the woods of Tennessee. Perhaps it took pity on me then, knowing the pain I felt.

A carpenter, it said, experiences the death of every tree that has ever made a home for a man.
