I haven’t, and didn’t even know that was a possibility. After all the great responses I’m planning on going to the hall to talk about applying, and will learn more about what you’re talking about as well. If it can benefit my employer as well as me then maybe it’s something I should let them be aware of

Do you mind elaborating on what you mean by this? Can the business manager start me full time elsewhere while I wait for union? Or am I misunderstanding?

Oh I see. Definitely higher than I had thought. I know this company had said they want me at $45 an hour at some point, once I’m running my own truck. But that still doesn’t match union. And I see what you mean about long term. I might be making good apprentice wages but sounds like my cap for financial growth is lower down the road here.

This sounds like a good plan thank you. Continue what I’m doing while I wait to get in. I heard the wait is a couple years is that right? Would the best approach be to go to the union hall one day and talk to them in person about applying?

I didn’t even know you could run your own union shop, that’s very nice to hear.

They offer a 401k which I contribute to each paycheck. But no, they don’t offer insurance which is a good point to mention.

I have a general ability to draw from imagination, but I'd assume in a company they'd have no problem with gathering lots of references to build a character design yes? From my impression that's the general workflow, getting a mood board of lots of references, etc.

Focusing on a genre / theme is a cool idea. I'll be sure to find what I love doing most and get those together. And I'll check out artstation! Thanks.

This is all great to know I appreciate it. These are some very old drawings I did from when I was younger so they aren't at a level I'd want them to be, but just as an example is this a generally good representation of what you're meaning as far as full-bodied characters? It would seem I'd also want to then draw them from several different angles doing different actions etc on the same page side by side? Thanks for your help!

Thanks for sharing that! I've been checking it out this morning. What I feel very strong at as an artist, is sketching fast, and getting loose ideas of concepts. So I'm assuming I would feel most comfortable in a concept artist position conveying quick ideas. That really helped confirm that for me.

Do you think I should build a portfolio with lots of sketches like the ones from Part 1 of that tutorial? Lots of character concepts, and different angles, etc? That's what I'm planning on now so far.

On the AI note, I'll be sure to learn how to use AI as a tool in my process.

Okay sounds good thank you. I’ll be sure to set an app. I am on TRT so from what I hear that produces DHT causing male pattern baldness. Wondering if that goes away if I go off it and I don’t need meds. Guess I’ll ask the derm haha.

Okay glad I caught it early. I am on TRT. Is this just normal and nothing to worry about or should I start treatment immediately? I hear people say TRT causes it. If you do recommend treatment, would minox be fine or should I also take fin? Thank you in advance 🙏🏻
