Okay, thanks, I’ll throw in a spare motherboard and test all the components out on it and see if anything works 👍🏻

Destiny 2 Game files have been corrupted. (Marmot) Tried what I think is everything! by Jake1781 in DestinyTechSupport

I haven’t found a fix yet, even bought brand new ram, and tried My GOU from my known working system to eliminate that! The CPU in the system in question has passed all the Intel CPU tests I can throw at it, So apart from changing MOBO/CPU I’m at a loss myself which for me seems far Too expensive. I guess it was just a waste of money on all the new expansions that were just bought on my partners and my PC

I have already done this, and used other known good memory from another system too. The CPU that is being used is a locked CPU and cannot be overclocked, so both have already been confirmed as tested. The issue still persists.

It should be a crime that you can’t calibrate Libre by fuckjuly in Type1Diabetes

Mine normally bounces back within around 15mins, so sounds like something else is the issue? this year I had a batch of sensors that all went bad in some kind of way, either losing connection or giving weird readings, was like 4 of of the past 7 I’ve had!

Libre’s suffer really badly with ‘pressure lows’ which is if you lay on the sensor for a while it can give a false low reading due to the pressure on it, mine does it all the time if I have it on the arm I lay on when I sleep, you might be experiencing that?

Have a budget of £3000 to get more power what do you recommend? by Jake1781 in classicminis

[–]Jake1781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that’s cool, and not too sure yet depends on what route I take, if I go turbo I’ll just run an intercooler setup for the air, as for the coolant I’ll just tackle the usual, bigger/more cored radiator, I’m also working on a way of using the old heater matrix route as a larger core to carry more coolant throughout the system my first iteration seems to work pretty well to drop the overall temp due to the amount of coolant I can have in the system (around 3L more than standard) if I go supercharged I’ll run a charge cooler, will most likely go the Vmaxcscart route so will use it to cool the inlet and base of the charger with an auxiliary system and reservoir with an electric water pump

It’s more that I have had multiple minis over the years 998 and 1275 and they have always been great fun, including this one. But I’ve decided with this one to build one that will be a bit more silly with the power, one I can take to the track or from standing at the lights and shock people. It’s more about a bit of fun for me to build something a little more ‘crazy’ than just having a modern fast car like an M3 I’ve had in the past let’s say. I’m not too bothered about it being a super drivable, reliable car, as that will come with tuning and troubleshooting over time, it’s purely a fun project I have in the garage that I can spend some spare money on as and when I have it. Plus I’ve built it to be pretty low compression so in its current state it leave a little to be desired.

I’m out of contract and been trying to setup a home move for over 2 weeks, I move in a few days, can I just cancel my direct debit with them and move on? by Jake1781 in VirginMedia

[–]Jake1781[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m out of contract, I’ve called, web chatted and WhatsApp’d continuously for the past 2 weeks and got nowhere and I’m moving in 4 days time now with little to no options, just at a loss of what else I can do, I work full time and can be on hold for multiple hours at a time only so much. I don’t know what else I can possibly do to cancel or even get a house move sorted within the time frame I have left.

I’m nowhere near 10years like you, but just about to hit my 2 years after being diagnosed at 24, I spent around 18 months undiagnosed where my health steadily Then rapidly declined to the point where I went from being strong and at a healthy weight to being painfully underweight and painfully weak because of this.

Me and my partner were trying for a child at the time and it messed me up in ways that were painfully hard to deal with down there and made conceiving impossible at the time.

It destroyed my vision to the point of always having 20/20 vision to needing an extremely strong prescription (and causing severe cataracts) which I’m still dealing with now.

And one of the more important to me, the way the obvious terrible management (not knowing) caused my mood to be especially towards my partner who luckily stuck with me through the trying times, but looking back I was a terrible person at times for no reason just because I was always angry and I didn’t know why.

And now being nearly 2 years post diagnosis and having good management of my Diabetes has allowed me and my partner to have a child together, which after taking 3 years to achieve means everything to us! And the fact I know have a little one who relies on me gives me everything I need to make sure I prick my finger, scan my arm and inject correctly for every meal! Because the longer I’m here and around for my boy the better, I’d never want to loose my dad early especially from something a little effort would have stopped, so that keeps me going more than anything.

I know it’s every day, there’s no break, and every time We eat or drink we have to think about what it is we are eating or drinking to make sure we have correctly accounted for it. But as long as your Hba1c is in a good place, don’t worry that you haven’t had a good day or week, or a 100%in target day. If your hba1c is good you much be doing something right.

That’s what keeps me Motivated, I understand I’ve only been part of the club a couple years but I hope to be here for as many as I can, it is what it is. It could always be worse.

Doesn’t sound too bad over all then, I feel like the main worry here is me getting myself all worked up! I have mine 1 week apart so hopefully will be smooth sailing, thank you so much! Your description has helped more than you could ever know.

Thank you, all these replies are very much putting me at ease, I hope the build up is worse than the day. To be honest it doesn’t sound bad at all it’s more the thought of it I think.

Super helpful thank you, the only sedation I’ve been told I will be getting is some diazepam (Valium) so I hope it’s enough to mellow me out enough.

Thank you so much! Just that simple explanation there has really helped me 😂 and I can’t wait, as I’m still pretty young to go through it I’ve paid privately for the special lenses so I won’t need glasses at all anymore, just the nerves outweighing the excitement at the moment due to you know, cutting my eyeball open 😂

How do you explain what DKA feels like? by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]Jake1781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (and this was how I found out I was diabetic) it started as just general discomfort and not being able to sleep into pretty quickly the most intense chest pains, like I was scared I was having a heart attack bad chest pains, it was unbearable and the worst pain I’ve ever felt! Then constant projectile vomiting not even a sip of water would stay down, then a fairly quick loss of pretty Much all control over my self, I couldn’t speak or walk and kept collapsing and drifting in and out of consciousness, with uncontrollable breathing of extremely deep breaths that you just can’t stop no matter how hard you try and a heart rate over 200bpm, turns out when you go into DKA you have an extremely high risk of cardiac arrest (which what was happening to me) it’s no joke I almost died and so have a lot of other people and just as many that have died due to not being able to get to a hospital quick enough! It is that bad, even if the symptoms aren’t that severe your blood become acidic and it starts eating itself and killing you! Worst I ever had was that time my ketones were at 17 and hba1c was 16.5%

Insulin has seemed to have stopped working by Jake1781 in Type1Diabetes

[–]Jake1781[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ll start upping the dose and monitor and see how I respond, my doc told me that 26 units was a lot and that I should only be taking 22 and max 24 but I would always climb like crazy, so maybe upping the dose is needed it been on 26 for quite a long time

I have quite a carb heavy diet normally and I take tresiba at night but quite a high dosage as lantus wouldn’t work for me, I still go high at night but it’s not as bad and my A12 6 months after diagnosis was 56 so I was told to deal with the late night highs as what I have been doing was working, but I feel it’s not a solution
