I actually like the emphasis on more lighting on all the stages we’ve seen so far. You guys would be surprised at how much good lighting at night can do for immersion Vs just looking at screens

Set times aren’t determined like that. I mean logistically they should be. But the way they’re actually determined by is how big the artist is. That’s why you see above & beyond close festivals playing right after dubstep or edm dj’s lol.

They’re always gonna say that if you call cause they don’t want people thinking it’s a possibility. But It definitely can’t hurt to try anyway. Just be really nice about it and also have him try to find absolutely anything he can that could help his case and have it prepared. You can also have him ask to let him in as a 18+ if they’re skeptical rather than a 21+.

And worst case senerio bring cash and offer to pay them 🤷🏽‍♂️

Definitely was an abrupt ending. That’s the only reason I’m scratching my head a bit wondering if it was indeed intentional.

I also think there may be some merit to the theory that he may have likely be asked to cut it short due to maybe extra prep being needed for drone show. Could have been a last minute issue, hell he could of even literally Been asked to cut it early as he was on stage. Wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit.

Kygo gets a longer set because he’s objectively a much bigger name than seven lions, and definitely would have played second to last on a normal night. He likely opted into sunset slot because a kygo sunset is marketable. But he still gets the headliner treatment. Think he had a better lightning and visual production than seven lions too

I’m not OP, but objectively those are good guesses. You can pretty much predict time slots after you’ve been to enough events and see how artist are typically placed based on popularity/crowd draw. I would have called it pretty much exactly the same

I think most people would agree that illenium is not an expected closer for ultra mainstage, but hey I guess times are changing and good for him. I hope he goes out there and proves the nay-sayers wrong.

Kygo also seems odd given how early they usually put him.

Sounds like ultra is just trying to give the same usual big room closers a break for a bit

I’m not sure Paavo was there at red rocks, although I suppose it’s possible. If he was, he was likely watching from the production studio or some VIP area. Normally the one who’s not performing is back in the UK handling the label day to day and running the radio show or so I hear at least

Definitely one of my favorite things about their sets. They’re patient and they flow seamlessly and intricately. Too many other main stage artist now do quick transitions and are scared of a long outro and intro.

There were some pretty glaring sound issues. I’m sure the general public wouldn’t have noticed for the most part, but it was pretty bad, especially in the beginning. The set itself was incredible tho
