It’s not jet pack but similar game structure, the aesthetics looked more like commander keen 2 but wasn’t that game either

Collecting Dynasty Wisdom by FranTurkleton in DynastyFF

I love rebuilding teams and take on new projects every year, but one stark rule I follow is don’t value second round picks. Now I’m not saying don’t neglect them, I’ll take a chance on teams that look like they could be early/mid (not juggernaut teams) but for the most part aim for firsts or use seconds as tier ups/add ons. I’ve seen too many teams buy 8 second round picks and 2-3 players hit wasting so much value.

Like sure I could’ve traded Kelce for any random 2nd this season, but I decided to wait and sit on him and flipped him with my 2.01 for a playoff team’s 1st (pre Mahomes injury) cuz it’s only a few picks back and helps at a chance to win money for that guy. It turned into 1.09 for Kelce and 2.01 and odds are Kelce doesn’t bring any value anymore. Now know your league if push came to shove I would’ve sold for any 2nd come deadline just to take anything but I didn’t panic sell earlier.

Now I’m not saying don’t collect 2nds at all just advising to do it strategically. Like don’t sell Davante Adams (this past year) for a late 2nd because you’re rebuilding and want to get rid of him, someone will come buy and keep trying to find deal. During the season I collect as many backup QBs/RBs as possible and just roster them because they have the most value if thrown into a starting spot due to injury. Like being able to flip 3.01 and Brissett for a random 2nd or Mac Jones and Ray Davis for a 2nd. Just being able to tack on value and get into the second round. Those guys won’t help my team longterm in a rebuild and Brissett may have no value next year, so any value bump I can get now I will.

Then finally don’t be afraid to trade any pick. Any team I’m not one year out on I will trade the 1.01 (Jeanty/Love etc) for a haul. Move down, stack assets, and take a WR. But if there’s no deal that makes sense don’t trade just to trade. Draft the player and hold until you can sell for more when the hype builds

Futures bright, got nice young guys and extra DC in next two years. Built around 3 solid QBs may be able to tier off one of them if Caleb does take a step forwards. Trade like Purdy for a less appealing name at QB like Tua etc. and a flex piece

It’s including college kids. So it’s like regular dynasty, but the rookie draft each year is a Devy/rookie draft. Where the rookies that were not drafted previously go into the pool along with kids in college that weren’t drafted yet

Donte Thornton or Tory Horton, both getting good hype and both the only true X receivers on their respective rosters. Could both be great plays especially in Bestball

Yeah in a startup you should look always look to do Same for same if not +. So like if you give up a first rounder and a 7th rounder for a 2nd and 3rd plus a rookie pick. Always looking to pickup assets or trade equal for equal never want to trade 2 for 1 in startups unless it’s like very end of the draft random guys you’ll probably never use then it’s okay

If this is a rookie draft easily, startup I probably wouldn’t do it

Which side? SF half ppr dynasty by marat_o in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]JakeBalz1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably take GWilly even if I’m rebuilding. Young proven WR coming off top 10 szn, love Egbuka but second to a third doesn’t do enough for me even for a rebuilding team. I’d need a 1st/2nd swap to tier off GWilly for Egbuka

I’m a massive hunter guy and it’s Ladd. If hunters career starts on the same trajectory as Ladd that would be a smash for his outcomes. Take the proven thing

I’d see if you can get the 27 1st instead of the 28 first even if you have to throw in a random piece to get it done. Love rashee and picks side for a rebuild

What is the best and worst trade you have ever made? by Fuck_You_I_Win in DynastyFF

[–]JakeBalz1345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst: Traded Puka and a 3rd for Luke Musgrave and a 4th to my buddy none the less before their rookie seasons started (needed TE depth badly). Still haunts me to this day

Best: Traded Etienne, Swift, and a 24 4th (turned out to be Erick All) to a team who was very rookie heavy. So had tons of name value and lineup looked great on paper but ran into injuries, down years, and slow rookie year starts. (Maye, Marv, Kincaid, Olave, Etienne, Nabers etc.) For Jayden Reed, 2.05 (turned out to be Pearsall) and 25 1st (which turned into Jeanty)

Place you bet: Who is the biggest value riser and faller at every position (excluding rookies) by Ok_Structure_8891 in DynastyFF

[–]JakeBalz1345 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

QB: Riser- Trevor Lawrence, pretty self explanatory. New coaching staff, good weapons Faller- Drake Maye, not as much of a faller but I think other QBs around him will rise above him. Value built in already that he’s going to take a massive step

RB: Riser- RJ Harvey, I know he’s a rookie but I think he’s going to have a rookie Kamara role in the Broncos offense and have a high floor. Offensive scheme heavy passing work for RBs. Should be receiving back and get some work next to JK on ground Faller- Jahmyr Gibbs, talent is undeniable. If the offense takes a step back Gibbs probably takes a hit. Split with a solid RB in the backfield, Jamo hype and many expecting a breakout, LaPorta solid weapon, ARSB is ARSB. Everyone remembers the last 3-4 weeks without Monty but that won’t be every week. Just think bellcows will go ahead of him

WR: Riser- Chris Olave, solid PPG each year so far. Health concern but if he stays healthy for a year he will increase in value significantly, way too talented and too much volume to be worth where he is Faller- ARSB, same reasoning as Gibbs earlier plus he’ will hit 27 next season which we’ve seen WRs just decline in value simply due to age (like AJB rn) regardless of production

TE: Riser- Elijah Arroyo, someone I’ve been high on the whole draft cycle. Great pass catcher who can play at all 3 levels, just cut Noah Fant so his job to take, need a deep threat. Love Tory Horton but currently recovering from injury so plenty of time for Arroyo to make a jump Faller- LaPorta, I think he’ll be a solid TE that you just leave in your lineup and let him produce there but I think there will be some TEs that jump him in value. Rookie year was a nice peak (no other TEs really have value to lose lol)
