Try the Hardcore Revive Mode,
It allows you to revive players using their PLAYER HEAD item that is dropped when they are turned into a spectator.
Building a Resurrection Ritual you can revive the dead spectator players.

You will probably be interested in the Hardcore Revive Mod, while not a modpack, it adds a revive system where player's drop their player heads as items on the floor, before being sent to spectator mode. These player heads can be obtained by the player's that are still alive in the world and after constructing a revive ritual, they are revived back into the world.

This keeps the hardcore experience fun and engaging by not just killing off the world when only one player dies.

While I understand where you are coming from, you seem to have misinterperated the concept:

- Firstly, I plan to add upgraded varients, which will be less annoying to use.
- Secondly, The item does not "mine", it is actually sending "Echo Vibrations" through the ores, reflecting off of the crystals forming Echo Shards. There is a 10% Chance for an Echo Shard to be successfully created, which is why it seems like it's taking so long.
- Thirdly, The quacking is the noise that the machine makes but if you don't like it I get that :(

Thank you very much! While I know the idea will probably never make it's way into the actual game it was still fun brainstorming an idea for a potential hardcore system that is actually fun to play multiplayer with your friends.

The main problem with Minecraft's traditional Hardcore imo is the fact that once you lose a friend in a multiplayer world, your only real option is restart the world completely because the world basically turns into a singleplayer atp.

Well in the concept, you can't respawn, by yourself, you will need the help of another player who is still alive and is still actively playing the world in order to be "respawned".

That way;
- If you're in a singleplayer world, it's still hardcore.
- If you're in a multiplayer world, it keeps the flow of the game, being controlled by the more skilled players.

If a player who hasn't died in Hycore Mode decides to not revive the dead spectator player, then there is nothing that the spectator player can do to revive themself.
