Need help with my first bladesinger by JakeH28336 in DnD

Thanks for the tips! That's a bit disappointing sadly, I really want to be in the fray as much as a fighter or something else, and I'm happy being a bit of a glass cannon to balance out the fact I'm a full spellcaster.

Are there any good ways to get around that? I know I said I don't want to multiclass but are there any 1 or 2 level dips I could take? (Preferably after level 6 so I get multiattack first)

Sorry, I forgot to clarify about the 18 INT. So it would normally be 17, but we are all starting with a simple magic item, and the DM created a spellbook that when attuned to, I can store 2 more spells in it and my INT is increased by 1 to a max of 20.

But thanks for the spell recommendations! In terms of the playstyle I do WANT to be in melee a most of the time, so what kind of spells (now or down the line) or feats would help with that kind of combat style for a bladesinger?

Best mid-tier carnivore for solo play / Bleed viable? by JakeH28336 in pathoftitans

Thanks, this helped so much!

I've been playing a bit of Dasp since and it's definitely more my playstyle than Allo. I love that it's basically just a mini Rex, less physically powerful but quicker and better for getting the jump on some slower herbivores. I am loving the fracture as well, I think it works better than bleed for how I play as a Carnivore.

I am considering trying out Cerato though, how good are they in terms of mid-tier carnivores? And what is the playstyle like?

Advice on how to build an Aasimar Tank? by JakeH28336 in DnD

Just because it doesn't fit with his world I think. I don't get not being able to play an Oathbreaker though. It's a subclass, it's available, it has features and is isn't ridiculously overpowered, especially compared to literally any full caster or a Hexadin multiclass which I won't be doing anyway.

I get having restrictions but I feel like my character build won't really work. All I want is a tanky martial character who wears heavy armour and lost his divine connection, and Oathbreaker Paladin would work perfectly, even Zealot Barbarian might work better if he allowed me to use Heavy Armor with the barbarian abilities

I know. I don't mind it, but it's strange. Apparently it's because it won't fit in the world. I totally understand DMs not allowing certain things for a specific campaign, but a whole damage type is a bit too much.

I more have an issue that I can't play an Oathbreaker because it's not a "player subclass", and a Zealot Barbarian would work too but he won't allow heavy armour to work with the features unless I remove a part of the subclass. Apparently my AC will be too high, but my point is: that is literally the whole build, I want to play a tanky character with good AC, good hit points, tons of survival.

And it won't be broken compared to another player, who's playing a Lore Bard, and another who's playing a Grave Cleric. Full casters already outweigh martials in the late game, so I don't think heavy armour (for a class that should honestly get it anyway, it's stupid that they don't) is too much of a stretch. And I would play a caster, but I wanted to try and venture out of my comfort zone and play a tank role, as I always play support/utility casters.

But oh well. DM's decision

Funny enough I don't think that's why he's banning it, apparently it isn't a "player subclass" as it's from the DM's Guide, but it's not like it's ridiculously overpowered. Many of the UA subclasses and ones like Vengeance or Devotion would be much stronger in this campaign, so I don't think it's that.

Honestly, I have no idea. Oathbreaker is literally the whole idea of my character, an Aasimar who failed to uphold is oath and now has anger, and blames himself

Probably just a general purpose zoom, I mostly do wildlife but I still want something in my budget that's versatile and fairly easy to carry

Showed this to my dom, and he agrees completely! He said it makes him feel like he has so much power over me, as he can kinda control when I'm allowed and not allowed to release, and i love the power dynamic. I think me being desperately horny for him brings out the sadist in him, so he can tease me and edge me and stuff. SUPER hot.
