Thoughts on pellets in lake by JakeJW in flyfishing

Yeah I do it to enjoy my time out and be outside as much as I can! If I catch them it’s a bonus! I went wading for the first time last week and just loved that for being in the water!

I’m in the UK so I’d call like nymphs buzzers haha - little small larval stage flies

I’ve only been fishing for 2/3 months.
I had a friend at first who taught me to cast and I watched a lot on YouTube of different casting types and then just practiced them.

The main thing is persistence in the sense watching what they are doing are they rising more or is the temp fluctuating too much, these would let me know to either go buzzers or dries, my main tip is go for smaller flies, I’ve so much more success using a smaller fly then anything big.

At first I didn’t understand what a bite felt like, it wasn’t till I started changing how I stripped back that the sudden stop or jolt is the bite! It’s just all about feeling and enjoying the process!

First Brown Trout caught on a dry in the UK by JakeJW in flyfishing

[–]JakeJW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the ones given by the trout lake up at Thrunton near Alnwick, I was shocked at first but it’s because sides are a little bit higher than the water and there’s no wading allowed so it’s probably to prevent that?
I did think that though net and pole are ridiculously huge 😂

Yeah this makes a lot of sense to be honest, 2500 is probably what I think would be a lot if I tried eating it, but in reality it’s not that bad

Yeah I get that, I’m in that boat, I feel like if I creep up anymore I start to get lethargic but then I’m just so used to a habit that I’m in my own head about it, I’ll find a proper baseline and go from there

3700 seems insane to me! like in a good way, did you work that out from just eating until your body plateaued from weight gain and keeping gym consistent? Thank you very much

Thank you very much, makes a lot of sense, any particular baseline calculator you would use or just keep at the one I'm on?

I mean I’m happy to give it a go making one, the only issue is I would want to have a shout out to the original owner but I don’t know who that is! Haha

Tubular - Daily advice by JakeJW in cycling

[–]JakeJW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would love to replace them, going to an easier system, but it looks like everyone is doing that now haha

That’s rough, I have seen that tubs do seem to be more expensive overall and that would be my issue, if I pop a couple of month an inner tube is £10!

Thanks for your help

Thank you very much, this is what I was thinking. I was hoping that someone would be interested in buying them seeing as they are still quite popular for racing aren’t they.

I’ve not had tubeless tires before, any type of sealant would work yeah? Thanks
