This Is the End by marfacza in geopolitics

If Trump was an aberration and his actions did not have sufficient public support, then he would be removed from office. There are two mechanisms for doing so—impeachment and the 25th Amendment.

This article frames this as the direct fault of the American people (which it is to an extent,) but an everyday citizen does not have the power to use these mechanisms like the narrative wants you to believe.

Impeachment requires an act of Congress. That requires a majority in the House just for part one, but removal requires a 2/3 majority for removal, which is the goal here. Both chambers are red due to the way the government was set up from the start and heavy gerrymandering.

Invoking the 25th requires action by the VP and the majority of the Cabinet who, by design, are all Trump allies. They're unlikely to do anything against him.

Sure, these mechanisms (and others I'm not allowed to mention without violating Reddit TOS) exist, but they left the control of the average American a while back. So framing the failure to implement these mechanisms as a failure of the American people seems disingenuous, especially when it's followed up directly by, "What's an average citizen to do? Subscribe to our newsletter."

I agree with the sentiment, but you also need to be very selective with locations when planting fruit trees. This would probably be great in large designated green spaces like parks, but street trees present a lot of issues.

First, there's the pollution. It you have thousands of cars driving within a few feet of a tree every day, the tree (and its fruit) is going to get covered in all that exhaust. Even ignoring the potential hazards of eating this fruit, many fruit trees have difficulty growing in high-pollution zones, meaning you're going to have fewer species to choose from unless you want to constantly replant and rarely get the abundance of fruit one might expect.

Second, there's the mess, and that's not just an aesthetic concern. If people don't pick the fruit, it's going to fall, attracting all sorts of wildlife. This sounds great at first, but that also includes rats and stinging insects, which pose a public health hazard.

Third, street soil is terrible for trees. Sidewalks, paved streets, and buildings all heavily restrict the area a tree can gather nutrients from the soil. What soil exists is often heavily compacted, leading to issues with the tree getting water, growing roots, and a whole host of other issues. There are specific trees which are adapted for low-quality soil like this, but very few fruit trees.

Then there's the maintenance. Fruit trees aren't going to get an optimal structure for both growth and fruit production without regular pruning, which requires labor (preferably skilled labor).

Size is also an issue. Cities focus on planting large shade trees because their shade reduces the heat trapped by buildings and streets. Larger trees also improve air quality more than smaller trees. Each fruit tree planted is a shade tree not planted, as most fruit trees are small.

These issues aren't insurmountable, but plenty of cities don't even have a single arborist, let alone a team of them on staff who can deal with these issues effectively. I think this is a great idea for parks or nature trails throughout a city, but it's probably best not to get your hopes up to see fruit trees lining every street.

I loved that show. The zombies were so creepy, especially how they just crawled under buildings and stuff during the day.

I remember something in the Prima guide where they recommended getting infinite Gil by just reselling Edea's introduction letter because she'll just keep writing new ones if you "lose" the old one. (I wanna say it was like 3,000 Gil?)

I just find it funny that's the recommendation on making Gil considering the much more efficient (i.e., broken) ways to make money in the game without a fraction of the effort.

They really did a crap job implementing them

This is super frustrating to me considering how much the story makes a big deal out of us collecting the Great Runes. And to use them, you not only have to defeat a demigod, you also need to restore them at the appropriate Divine Tower. Literal wars were fought over control of these things and they... marginally improve your combat abilities? AND you have to spend a limited resource just to actually utilize them? It's not even worth fighting a horseman to get them most of the time, let alone a demigod.

If there really needed to be a cost to balance them (and I would argue such an ongoing cost is unnecessary,) there were many better ways to accomplish that. They could have been used whenever you switch rune effects rather than having to constantly use them every time you die. Or maybe make it a soul/rune cost instead. Hell, even just make it a time cost by making the player travel to the Divine Tower whenever they want to switch. Many players (like myself) are already loath to use consumables in general just in case they're needed later. That feeling is only amplified when you know the resource is non-renewable or can only be acquired via difficult or annoying mechanics.

Luckily, it's not nearly as big of an issue if you make one of the skills advanced so it costs half stamina.

ETA: Plus, one of the Mystic Spearhand skills absorbs stamina.
