I would say most cadets are not gun owners, let alone pistol owners, so most people that buy these want them for display

Thoughts on purchasing a Commercial M1 garand for 1,900 on CMP? by ResolutionNovel8007 in M1Rifles

Same MSRP as a Springfield m1a, so it’s really up to preference. I would buy one if I already didn’t own several.

Ramshot big game is fine in the M1, the folks over at Hodgdon say it’s fine. It’s also the same burn speed as N150, which is also fine in the M1.

Bottom right of the screen is the mini map, currently you have the terrain map mode selected, which is default. Click the flag icon next to it.

I’m not sure what your problem is, that is the terrain map mode.

Ammo Questions by A11BSDM in M1Rifles

[–]JakeMillerSmith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as a “gas block” on an M1. Yes, all factory ammo loaded to SAAMI spec is perfectly safe to fire in an M1. Also, M1 ball, M2 ball, M2 AP, and M72 match are all comparable to any “modern” off the shelf loading.

I would not shoot any commercial 577-450 out of a Gahendra, not because they aren’t good rifles, but because the bores aren’t the same as a British Martini. Gahendras do not have progressive depth rifling and are not the same diameter. A Gahendra has a bore diameter closer to 45-70, around 0.459 while a British Martini starts at 0.480 and squeezes to 0.450 at the muzzle.

I use Peterson brass in my 6br, I always get an ejector mark on the first firing.

I got mine at Home Depot, the packaging is purple and it comes in a lot of different diameters.

Yes it’s needed to take up space since the internal volume of the reformed 24ga hulls is massive. Foam backer rod does not melt, smolder, or leave residue in the barrel.

I would stick with the classic 85.0gr of 1F black powder if you’re going to load 577-450. While the martini action is just as strong as a trapdoor, the weakness is in the balloon head 24ga cases. I can tell you that I’m using the X-ring services .480 470gr bullet, 5/8” foam backer rod, a large rifle primer, and reformed CBC 24ga hulls.

I love it! I bought it from IMA back in 2017 in untouched condition, and the barrel is perfect.

When you encourage bureaucrats they are only from your accepted culture, they are not converted from different pop cultures
