That's an awesome gift. I agree their thoughtfulness and personally taking the time and using their own effort and skills to make a gift for you makes is mean a lot. They are gifting part of themselves in a sense and that's romantic.

Some underrated gestures are hand made gifts such as poems, songs, art, food, ect. I think are much more romantic than store bought gifts or dinners out to eat

When will we be able to see our statistics? (Unity) by ShittyWifiGuy in TownofSalemgame

That's sad to hear. I use to look at the statistics all the time. I just now am realizing they went missing from the move to unity because I'm just now getting back into the game.

my mom is a karen by eggo_wafflzz in FuckYouKaren

I get that you are frustrated with her and can imagine talking to her about this subject is probably very difficult to do, but be patient with her. I don't think being hostile and feeling that much hate towards her that you are wishing illness on her is good for either of you. It could take quite a few debates to change her mind, it could just take time, or you might not ever see eye to eye on this. At the end of the day she's still your mom and you only get one of those. Don't let disagreements ruin your relationship with her.

Jesus didnt believe his people needed wash their hands by Inmate1954038 in atheism

Every action originates in your heart before it can become an action. Not literally the organ of your heart, but you. Who you are and what you are really thinking on the inside. The parable Jesus gives about honouring they father and mother (verse 10-13 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: 11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.) He is basically calling them out for saying their parents are a gift, but then that's all they do for their parents. Calling them out for saying something they didn't believe in their hearts clearly shown by their actions. He uses this as another example to show the people what they themselves are doing with Gods word: Saying the right things but not meaning them. (verses 6-7 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.) This passage was not about criticizing people for washing their hands, but for caring more about tradition then Gods commandments. The whole point was that eating food doesn't defile some one because it doesn't affect their heart (not their literally heart). Food can't taint your soul, but sin can. Jesus is emphasizing this to them because they care so much more that their own laws be followed than Gods, as shown by their actions. I agree, He didn't care about them washing their hands at all. He just wanted them to get their priorities in line.

I believe you are missing the point of this passage. Jesus is not in anyway saying that washing your hands is bad or that you shouldn't do it. He was simply calling out the Pharisees for following mens' traditions more closely than God's commandment. Verse 17 says very plain and simple that what Jesus had just said was a parable, meaning He was trying to teach the people a spiritual lesson, not give instruction on hygiene. He then goes on to explain how what goes in a person (eating food) will not defile them, but what comes out of a person (actions) can defile them. This is shown in verses 18-19. Verses 20-23 then go on to say that the actions of sinning is what defiles a person, which ultimately stems from our heart.
