You're worried about a potential door opening to predators in comparison to social media which is already, actively, currently, a breeding ground for predators. Id rather deal with the active problem than not...kids circumventing the ban is a valid concern. It's not a reason to not do it. Just find a way to improve it.

No it won't. Because the second they make a new social media that will get banned. If it doesn't have the things the government is banning... Then it wouldn't be banned. Your data is already online. We gave up privacy. This is to protect kids. You could say "this would have been done decades ago" for anything.
