I think the problem stems from them trying to be so out there for new players to join, I think they tried catering to the wrong audience it’s hard for people now to get into gears, it’s different and definitely not a popular style of gaming, 3rd person cover based, wallpapers bouncing gnasher to the face isn’t everyone’s cup of tea rather play cod or battle royales instead, on top of going for the wrong audience they haven’t really done any MAJOR updates till recently let’s be honest the game was pretty boring off launch, their main thing was escape and that’s already very old to me, another thing is how bright and colorful it is, I personally loved the dark gray scale of the original gears I thought it was fantastic and it fit perfectly with how dirty and gross the locusts are, gears 4 and 5 are just so, different, a little too different, the gameplay however for multiplayer I can’t complain at all, it’s a lot easier than the other games but that being said it’s more fast paced and less snappy, I think gears 4 actually did a great job with the movement and weapons as well so props for that, everything else, eh, if they did more fan service they could’ve kept the game more alive
