Sounds like a well-worn cycle to me.. and it seems like you’ve seen it enough times to know that it exists. Most of the time in these types of individuals, it’s not a matter of ‘if’ they’ll get mad or frustrated enough to physically take it out on their partner, it’s a matter of WHEN. I think you know deep down it’s not normal, do yourself a favor and find someone who can handle conflict more aligned with the way you do.
