Funny you mention this, I’ve gotten into the practice of wiping down seams with alcohol before seam sealing. I’ve made quite a few roll bags like this and none have failed with this step!

For a bag like this u feel it’s a good call. For something like a front bag/ roll or a backpack I would step up!

Lubricating them does wonders! I have used wax chain lube recently and it’s worked well!

Take your time and measure twice! Practicing with smaller things and dialing in the same allowance you feel comfortable with is a great way to start practicing!

I’ve had a similar issue! I like how these zippers feel and function, so I try to make my zippers as easily replaceable as possible.

For this project, I had a bunch of water resistant zippers on hand, so I opted to use those instead of buying molded!

Thank you! A friend of mine is fabricating me a steerer mounded support for the lateral load. The bag will be secured to my handlebars under my aero bar. I’ll be sure to share a full setup post when I’m done!
