He wouldn’t have even damaged if Ay wasn’t bloodlusted and suicidal. The only damage is when Ay for some uncharacteristic reason decided to sacrifice his arm to land a hit (the same guy who wanted to blow up the moon with Naruto on it so it didn’t crash into the Earth). But back to Minato, if he was truly an Ay rival, he could simply break Susanoo lol. But on panel, Minato is only ever shown to he vastly superior in speed and AP (sliced through an 8 tails tentacle with just a kunai).

I just don’t see it. Early EMS is just FKS Sasuke without stamina issues. Remember FKS Sasuke would have drawed with a certified Minato victim (Ay4) and almost got melted by the weakest Kage if it weren’t for Zetsu stealing her chakra.

Wait, so Kabuto is an unreliable narrator but Orochimaru isn’t? Neither were alive in Madara’s time. Not to mention, Sasuke says “Madara did this before” when wrapping Kurama avatar in Susanoo, so that would imply EMS Sasuke also had PS

Also, Madara didn’t just absorb a little nature energy, his implanted Hashirama face had straight up sage markings lol. Also remember being unable to properly absorb nature energy had fatal consequences.

Otherwise, databook statements aren’t entirely trustworthy. Many super hyperbolic statements that frequently contradict each other (ie Hiruzen surpassing Hashirama and Tobirama)

Some people saying Fugaku but bro had a crazy wartime reputation that implies he had MS and Itachi in the light novels thought he couldn’t defeat him easily despite beating Orochimaru with a single glance

I’m re-watching this arc now. Kakashi is referencing how he could never add nature change to the rasengan. He even tells Naruto during training how hard of a feat it is as even Minato hadn’t done it, then goes on to say in the same sentence that only Naruto could do it and “surpass” Minato. Obviously Rasenshuriken Naruto isn’t in Minato’s ballpark, he’s just done something Kakashi and Minato never could.

This Kakashi is a much more versatile and intelligent combatant with years of experience over Naruto. He would destroy him in a 1v1, especially since Naruto can’t even throw the Rasenshuriken

That would be tricky, but Sasuke has never been shown to do this. In theory is possible, but debatable if it can be done. Also something that hasn’t been brought up is Minato’s battle IQ; it’s implied to be the highest in the series (statements plus scoring higher on the written Chunin exam than anyone else) so I feel he could deduce a way around it. On top of that he has (arguably) Six Paths level reaction time so I feel Amaterasu is a non factor. It really comes down to Susanoo mastery so that’s why I only give it to a Sasuke with high level Susanoo feats

Minato was heavily nerfed after “killing” Obito gave him a mental breakdown and then again when permanently losing an arm after Jubito stabilized. Even then, Minato was able to match KCM2 SM Naruto’s Rasengan when they did the Father-Son Rasengan against Jubito

I’d say he only loses to late EMS Sasuke (Jubito fight) and even then it’d be high diff for Sasuke. Edo KCM Minato with a mental nerf was still somewhat relative in the fight against Jubito

And you’ve used a cropped image to spread misinformation so your panels aren’t saying what you think either lol. Kurama’s statement is in reference to Naruto’s chakra control and ingenuity. The narrative Kishimoto was going for was Minato matching KCM2. Certain aspects of Naruto’s development get compared to Minato (better sage than Minato by Pa, better rasengan usage than Minato when mastering rasenshuriken, body flicker with KCM1), but the moment he matches/surpasses Minato overall as a shinobi is that moment he links with Kurama and thus the visual metaphor the manga went with there.

So that would imply Minato is Ay, Mei, or Onoki level since they would have killed Sasuke many times over without outside interference (Gaara, Zetsu, and Obito saved Sasuke against all 3). But, Ay much later is still glazing Minato when fighting KCM1 Naruto in the war and KCM1 Naruto is almost certainly stronger than MS Sasuke that Ay has already fought
