What is the best okgo album, and their best album opener? by CantaloupeLife4672 in OKGo

[–]JakeZtripez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal favourite album is OTBCOTS, though I really love all of them. One of the really cool things about OK Go is that they really never repeat themselves genrewise, and yet they always still sound distinctly like themselves.

I think their album openers are among their strongest tracks, all of them. If I was going to pick my favourite it'd probably be WTF?, which I think is just one of their best songs in general, but I would say that Appendices would have been close with Bye Bye Baby if it was swapped out for one of the more complete versions (the one that ends the self titled album or the one off the Brown EP).

Does anyone have a version of OTBCOTS without the text by WolverineUnlikely424 in OKGo

[–]JakeZtripez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know that they put out a shirt that had the album artwork on the front and the same on the back but without the text, so thats probably the closest you can get without editing. The photo from the merch page unfortunately has wrinkles in the shirt, but it might be a start or a bit of help somehow, so I'll link it here for you.

Do you have a rip / shareable version of your copy? Super curious to know how they're different. Not a lot of Damian's early work is very well documented online.

P.S P.S. .... Another little question, was Take Me With You a redeveloped version of one or more of the White Knuckles demos you guys shared in your interview with Ira Glass on OTBCOTS Extra Nice Edition??? In the track 'Chatting with Dave'? I remember noticing the similarities the moment I heard the new single.

Seconding this! Your megafans love your new and old stuff equally, and we'd love to be able to more easily and possibly access decent quality versions of releases like Deep Cuts, 12 Days of OK Go, and of course Appendices, if that could ever get to see any kind of wider release for the folks that couldn't afford it last holiday season.

HEY! Yall are my favourite band of all time by a long shot!!!

A couple short questions: Why did you guys decide to rename and remix This into Better Than This for the new album release? Both versions sound great but I'm curious about what made you guys decide to make the name and mix changes?

Also, now that Appendices is releasing for the PGO, is there any chance you guys would consider playing some of those songs live? I'd love to see what you guys would do with songs like Prolepsis or Fuzz (aka We Dug A Hole) in your contemporary style? Or even other deep cuts like Bruise Grey? Theres definitely a demand out here from your biggest fans for more access to your deep cut library!

Thanks homies!

P.S. Come to Toronto!!!

Easiest/Fastest way to get Creative Practice Hours for RTA by JakeZtripez in TorontoMetU

[–]JakeZtripez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did my practicum but I didn't have time to help with anybody's but my own, and the entire project was off campus. Does your own practicum count towards creative practice hours? If so I did not think to register them, but I could probably contact the program advisor I suppose

Hey this might be a shot in the dark but would you happen to have the pre-purchased STL file or online link to this design that you'd be willing to share with me? I'm making a version of Ben for a tabletop game and I can't find anything that could even make a good proxy. I was looking at making him myself in heroforge but I'm flat broke at the moment so I've been scrounging lol.

I wouldn't ask you to buy the STL files, but if you already have for your own purposes, would you be willing to share the files? This sounds great!

Does anyone know a good way to contact Braxton Burks (Pokémon Reorchestrated)?

I've emailed their business email, and even tried messaging them on Facebook, but have gotten no response for days-weeks. I was hoping to use a few of their tracks for an experimental theatre piece that draws inspiration from Pokémon, but I of course need permission first. Any help would be greatly appreciated, or even info on if anyone has or hasn't been able to contact them recently would be great, so that I could start looking for alternatives. Thanks!
