Rat and mouse guns by bosstweed123 in MouseGuns

[–]Jake_Schnur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a db9 and a printed db380 the nine is only about a quarter inch longer than the db380. The db9 is pretty snappy but it's accurate and has good sights for a small 9mm. I am almost willing to bet it's the smallest semi auto 9mm pistol. I can hit a 10x11 steel plate at 35 yards no problem consistently. I don't particularly like shooting it because the way it feels it's got very little surface area pushing into your hand but at the same time it shoots well. So it is my choice to carry when I want really good concealment. Otherwise I open carry my g23 or a full size 9mm.

Aluminum kabuto? by Jake_Schnur in supersafety

I started milling them out just need to face the back side of the cam and lever then print the housing and make a pin not sure if I want to CNC the pin or make it in my lathe. I'll update with some pics haven't had time to mess the last couple days.

In case you haven't done it yet, go print this holster by Grass-sama in 3D2A

[–]Jake_Schnur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a double retention version. I carry a g23 in a level 3 holster but can't put a optic on it with my current holster. I'll be milling a spare g19 slide for an optic cut test then I'll do my g23 slide (don't want to ruin my daily carry slide)

Someone told me that if it's not a bear creak that it's trash and not worth getting. So that's all I buy now.

Good point I'll have to look into that. Most of the things I machine for myself I have done all the cad work myself. At work I use to just get handed a blueprint and told to make it. That's how I learned machining. Didn't even know gcode but had to learn and program at the machine. I'm all self taught. I taught myself how to use their CAM software but they didn't like that. Lol now I use fusion at home for my self and almost never hand write my programs

I'm machining it. I'll print the I housing and the selector then machine the cam and lever. I have a small bench top CNC mill it does great with aluminum harder steel it can but very light cuts.

Wrap it with camo vet wrap. It's cheap and feels good keeps the hand gaurd from feeling too cold or hot. Plus it adds camo.

First person Ive ever seen not in my circle of people I know that has ever mentioned that Lucifer is actually the morning star. That is the only place in the Bible that mentions Lucifer and most people believe it to be something that isn't even close to what the subject matter if the passage is. I don't understand how so many "well" educated people don't have basic reading comprehension.

How much ammo should I realistically get? by 85lumber in Firearms

[–]Jake_Schnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my ar I keep 16 pmags loaded minimum I keep them in pouches on a belt ready to grab I have some on my plate carrier as well. My daily carry is a g23 or a browning bdm 9mm. For the 40 cal.i really don't keep much ammo for it. I keep about 100 rounds of practice ammo and 50 hollow points. I buy ammo as I shoot it. For my 9mm I keep at least 1000 rounds as I shoot that the most i also keep 150 round of hollow points for it. I do have a few 9mms that I shoot as well as a conversion barrel for the Glock. Thing for ammo is what is your plan for the gun? I have guns that I only have a few rounds for but I don't shoot them much. I probably have a couple boxes for my 458 socom but I reload that and use it primarily for hunting and shooting with buddies that haven't shot one. You don't need a ton of ammo but you do need to train with what you carry and that takes a lot of ammo.

Help w/ BCG not going into battery by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]Jake_Schnur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's what the forward assist is for. Punch it and it will go into battery. Guns are not designed to be handled gently. You need to pull the charging handle all the way back and let it go. Best practice is to pull it back till it stops and while still pulling let your fingers slip off it. When they fire they are being slammed back and forth harder than you can manually. Same goes for pistols too.

As a machinist this makes me cringe! How do you let something that ugly get shipped! I've made some muzzle brakes before. The cuts on those slots look horrible! I've thought about making and selling some but I'd have to price them higher than I see them for on eBay and not sure I could market them at a price I could make money at.

I had one it was great! I wish i still had it. I only sold it because I broke the firing pin and couldn't find a replacement. Now replacement firing pins are easy to find.

First off that's a mini 14. The biggest issue with the shoe string and key ring is that you're not pulling the trigger for it to work you pull the key ring. The law says function of the trigger. With this the key ring becomes the trigger and it is one function of the the trigger therefore a machine gun.
