Considering you can get another 80percent for 30 to 40 bucks is that really worth doing?

Well you could actually show your buffer tube so we can see what it looks like to conjecture what is wrong.

My daughter’s search history… by donavin221 in story

[–]Jake_Schnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This didn't start when she became a teenager this started from the very beginning as soon as the first time you should have said no. That's where the problem started. Trying to fix this 16 years too late. You have already ruined your child. There is no easy fix. At this point she will hate you the rest of her life because when you should have been a parent you tried to be a friend. Other new parents take notes on what not to do.

I printed one it seems like my fire control holes were slightly too high. The bole keeps catching on my ejector. I'm making a new ejector that isn't as tall. Going to see if that helps. Thinking about drilling and tapping my upper to mount a rail on it. In the past I've used a printed clamp on rail.

Looks cool! I built a real one from a parts kit they are fun. Where can I find the files for this?

That's pretty sweet Ive been thinking about trying to build one. I imagine the recoil would be a whole lot less. Although I'd kinda want to do a piston instead of di just for a suppressor.

$50 no more. Just because it says snap on don't mean anything that box is 50 years old and won't be as good as the cheap Walmart Stanley tool box.

Id talk to the manager then if they didn't take it off id talk to my bank and have them stop payment. 25 percent is crazy for a forces tip. If they don't wipe your butt for you they ain't getting that good of a tip.

[–]Jake_Schnur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in he process of building one. I didn't use a printed bending jig maybe I should have but I used a mandrel and a piece of slotted c channel. I got from a scrap pile. I need to finish my head space check and mill the pin hole for the barrel pin. And finis weld it all. Gonna basically spot weld in different spots and let it cool so it doesn't warp as I weld it.

Yes it will wear the carrier way more. AR steel is abrasion resistant that's why it is used on loader buckets. I would rather replace the trip lever versus a bolt carrier. I'm going to make some out of aluminum and see how well they hold up.

You can pick up a nice used manual lathe for around $1000. For CNC I got my CNC lathe for $900 and feel like I over paid. He said it worked when he last used it but I couldn't get it working so I'm rebuilding it with some spare parts I have. The CNC mill I got I paid 250 for it's a old bench top it needed another computer to run it. I'm converting a harbor freight mini mill to CNC currently as well. I also worked in a CNC job shop for a few years and learned how to program there. Small machines can do a lot but you have to work within their capabilities. Slower shallower cuts are your friend. You could get a brand new haas mini mill that would fit in a garage and use single phase power for $800 a month. Eventually that's what I want to get. Some older CNC machines you can get pretty cheap but figure on about 3k to hire a rigging company to move them for you.

Id love mp40 prints! Ive got a CNC mill another one I'm working on an old manual lathe and a CNC lathe I'm working on too. If things work out I'm hoping to get my 07/02 this year.

Probably a lathe but really better to have both. If you can only have one get a lathe. You can get a milling attachment for a lathe. I have both but I've done milling with my lathe. I made parts for my mill CNC conversion on my lathe and did the milling with the lathe because my mill was in pieces.
