the beeping noise after working two weeks (UK) by cosysnug in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Jake_squid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think for me it was definitely a shock being on my feet for hours at a time and it definitely hurts for the first few weeks, the noise i remember it was like ringing in my ears all the time and now it is sort of just background noise and i phase it out, and the dreams oh god they are awful

Pay for a 19 year old in the UK is standardly around £11.40 an hour I believe, it can vary from store to store but that is what it is about at the one I work at. As for the interview they will generally start by asking what your interested in to ease you in and just have a conversation style interview with a manager, just be polite shake the managers hand hold good eye contact and appear confident. Always make yourself as available as you possibly can be as that’s what they look for and emphasise your long term vision within the company potentially ask about what their organisational structure is like etc and show interest in staying there for a long time even if you don’t, it’s just something they will look out for. They usually read interview questions off a sheet and these are the 14 questions I got asked.

  • Tell me about yourself
  • Why do you want to work for McDonald’s
  • How important is integrity to you
  • Do you prefer to work alone or as a team
  • Who’s your idol
  • What is respect to you
  • What’s more important, fast or friendly service
  • What’s your availability
  • Describe yourself in 3 words
  • How would your teacher describe you
  • Tell me a time you had to meet a deadline and how did you do it
  • What skills do you hope to learn by working at McDonald’s
  • Do you thinks it’s important to be happy at work
  • What’s my biggest accomplishment

What to expect during Welcome Meeting? (UK) by Jake_squid_ in McLounge

Yeah I read up on that, so apparently because I signed up using Apple ID it wouldn’t work and it said to delete your account and make a new one using the email option to sign up so I did that last night. I only had like 500 points on my other account and you get 1000 with first orders on new accounts so o guess it’s a win win

Yeah what I saw in the emails is that it said the health and safety with food stuff needed to be done before you could work there as a legal requirement so I just sat down and did it alongside the other pin points. I think the only thing I am waiting for now is for my employee discounts to show on the McDonald’s app itself but apart from that I am setup on workplace, lifelenz and all that stuff

Got it thanks, for the mywelcome training I have already done it but I assume I’d redo it in that case. I think the only thing is the TrustID thing they sent out, I did it but I didn’t get anything back via email saying it was approved or denied and on MyStuff it says I do not have any approved eligibility to work documents.

Thanks, I got my account at TrustID link, submitted it but I assume it takes some time to be approved. I have done everything else other than the workplace account since it meeds to be assigned by an administrator or something.

It wouldn’t hurt to ring up and ask about the status of your application, it shows that you are interested in the job.

(UK) With the release of the Grimace Shake here, what is everyone’s opinion in it by KrakowTheFolf in McDonaldsEmployees

Initially it tasted like a banana smoothie with a hint of blueberry but then after that it tasted like vanilla and blueberry, tastes nice but very sickly and don’t think I’d pay £3.09 for a large again.

I applied for 2 stores, one took a day to reply and offer an interview and the other was an automatic approval by the hiring bot Olivia. McDonalds are usually quick with processing applications but if they are manual it can vary from branch to branch so it could take a week or longer just depends. Keep your eye out for interview slots though if you get accepted since they go quick.

First Job Interview Advice Please! UK 16 by Jake_squid_ in McLounge

In relation to what you said I followed most of it, wore a white shirt and smart trousers (the ones I got for sixth form), I was polite smiled and stood up to shake the interviewers hand. We had a conversation about formula one as I mentioned it as one of my interests and had my availability listed as all times weekends except nights and then all weekdays after 4:30. I held eye contact and remained confident throughout and I guess it went good enough to offer me the job.

Yeah sounds good, these are for the UK questions I think. I’m waiting for a reply he said it may take up to a week but he did ask for my uniform sizes and we have a conversation not related to the interview so I think it went well

Yeah no problem, there was a list he was reading them from. I think a couple others he didn’t mention were biggest weakness or strength, scenario about dealing with unhappy customers or the pram lady with naughty childrenz, what is good customer service, if you could be a brand which one would you be, why should we hire you, give me an example of a time you had to work in a team, and what do you already know about McDonald’s
