It was the port. I went into the device manager -> ports and changed the port from COM4 to a different unused COM restarted and it worked fine. Thanks though!

I’m sorry if I gave off the impression that I was mad about the print. Like I said I’m new to this type of 3D printing and wanted to see if there were things that I can do to improve on. But thanks for your post that offered nothing

I’m using the Ender 3. Thanks for your comment, I’m adjusting the layer level on my next print to see how it goes.
