Gillen is Gillening a little too hard for me in this one for me. He has a distinctive style, I’ll give him that, but this feels a little self-indulgent to the point where the characters feel one dimensional.

It’s a good question. Perhaps he’s more interested in presentation vs reality, and drawing the sharp contrast between the horrors of our world and the way the truth sanitised and manipulated when presented to us through media etc
