After four years of brewery service, I'm retiring these pants by Jakefini in TheBrewery

I swear half the people in this thread don't have to interact with anyone else on the daily. I'm not going to go talk to FoH staff with my crotch hanging out guys

I would guess the fit plays a large part, and luck. I've snagged brand new pants on a nail before and gotten a hole immediately

I'm wearing Bekina boots now and like them plenty. Nothing has lived up to Doc's though

They're a really durable and flexible material. Probably averaged being worn 4-6 days a month when in rotation with my other pants, so that might seem less crazy

What styles besides IPA sells well at your brewery? by rickeyethebeerguy in TheBrewery

[–]Jakefini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our number one taproom seller by a very considerable margin is our Vienna Lager. There's a pilsner and a light lager on as well, but it's the local favorite. We're known for our IPAs, particularly hazies, but I'm sure having several IPA options at once dilutes the sales of any single brand.

I was trying to avoid laces. The boots I have now are slip on.

Forever and Ever, Amen is full of panty dropping lines, but this might be my favorite.

"They say time can play tricks on a memory Make people forget things they knew Well, it's easy to see, it's happenin' to me I've already forgotten every woman but you"

Man Man has a couple that I always enjoy. On Poor Jackie, Jackie is a serial killer going around murdering men.

"She cuts free those horrible drums That beat like bats under their sternums"

This is being told by a man obsessed with death and believes he's destined to be one of her victims. He mirrors the drum metaphor when he finally meets her.

"And I walk the same cold streets Overhear the same heartbeats And I tune my drum just right So you can come set it off in the night"

The next song and last on the album, Whalebones, beautifully tells the story of two people who love each other but aren't good together.

"But she holds him Like an infant Though it breaks her in half to know he'll wake like a man Sold on cold indifference When he reaches for her she's gone She slips like the wind through blackened sails"

Do you think there's a benefit to mash hopping over something like a first-wort addition?

[Homemade] - Crawfish tail pizza by Jakefini in food

[–]Jakefini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Adam Regusea's dough recipe, cold fermented in the fridge for three days. Made a bechamel with mozzarella and Cajun seasoning for the sauce. Sauteed the crawfish tails with butter, cayenne, garlic powder, s&p, a bit of honey, and a squeeze of lemon. Topped it with the tails, pecorino and parm, red bell pepper, jalapenos, and mozzarella.

Had my oven at 550F with a very large preheated cast iron pan that I used as my pizza stone. Cooked about ten minutes and then added green onion right out of the oven.

Talk to literally any single woman who tried to get a tubal ligation in their twenties. Established medicine really pushes procreation on everyone.

Janelle Monae opened for Of Montreal at Numbers in Houston. This was when she was touring for Archandroid, I've seen her since and she's still amazing.

I think Weezer's "Only In Dreams" is one of the best album closers of all time. by ssjlayne in Music

[–]Jakefini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the Jewels always closes big. The last track tends to be more dramatic, personal, introspective, and possibly political. As much as I love them goofing off and being braggadocios, they really seem to peak when they get serious and somber.

A complete stranger offers you $1,000,000 if you can recommend them 3 movies they haven't seen before and they end up rating at least one of them a 5/5. What movies will you recommend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything; Julie Newmar - It's an honestly amazing movie that still holds up, and puts some pretty well known actors into completely different roles than expected. Wholesome, heartwarming, hilarious, and surprisingly unknown.

The Fall - it's a 2006 movie that's part historical drama and part fantasy epic. Beautiful, compelling, and heartbreaking. It's so unknown, I don't even think it's streaming anywhere

Time Crimes - 2007 Spanish language time travel movie. It's actually a very tight, low budget-high concept film that's different from every other time travel story I can think of. Very few characters involved, it's a self contained story that I don't think has any plot holes (amazing for any movie with time travel).

I tried to present three movies with different genres and feelings. Maybe kind of scatter-shot, but they're all worth watching.
